K'wan is obviously a really great writer and it definitely shows in this book. I tried to put it down and just couldn't. If your into a lot of urban books that are drama-filled, and move at a fast pace then you'll really enjoy this. It has characters that you will learn to fall in love with, and plenty of scandal.

When i was reading the book it started off kinda slow because of all the characters that were introduced. And its crazy how they are all connected in some type of way. People will be b...more

This book was so much better than the first one.I was drawn in from the very beginning. The ending was so sad and unpredictable, but a very good read!

K'wan is definitely a talented writer and proved that once again with Still Hood. From the time I picked up this book, I was drawn in and couldn't put it down. Still Hood is a definite page turner, that gives readers a further look into the life's of the girls from Hood Rat. After the drama they all endured and the death of their friend Rhonda, you'd think there wasn't anything else worse that could happen, but never say never. K'wan also introduces a few new character's like Dena, who quickly g...more

The highly anticipated sequel to Hood Rat did not disappoint the readers. Yoshibelle and Jah are coupled up, but have major issues brewing; Billy and Marcus are still going strong; Don B is still trying to stunt and Black Ice earns his name.

I could not put this book down and happy that I decided to re-read it. Moving on to Section 8... The birth of Animal!

All I can say is WOW! This book was like watching a movie and I could not stop reading it. I just love the way K'wan weaves all of the characters and stories together. This was a great sequel to Hood Rat and I can't wait to read the rest of the books in the series.

In 2002 K'wan hit the scene with his debut novel Gangsta, under Triple Crown Publications. It was the first novel released by the budding house and would eventually become the building block for what is now a multimillion dollar company. What started as a therapeutic release went on to become a part of urban-lit history and an Essence bestseller, as well as drawing rave reviews overseas.
