Let me break this down.
Kyle's dad and brother are the most assholish of all the assholes. They treat Kyle like a slave and the dad regularly beats the crap out of Kyle.
Duncan is the bullriding world champion for the last three years. He kicked Kyle's dad off of the throne and regularly puts the bullriding smackdown on the abusive bastard.

A nice story with two good main characters that you can't help but like. I like an age gap between characters so the 17 years between Duncan and Kyle appealed to me.

This is a very nice and comfy novella. There is a bit of drama, but not so much and basically it’s a story of love and good feelings.

After reading a few books filled with angst this one was actually refreshing. Kyle and Duncan look great together and even though there's an age difference what does it really matter? Nothing in my opinion. What these 2 men find together in this story was precious and Kyle is very adorable and very likable. I enjoyed the book and the characters, and thought the situation they were in was interesting, but it ended so quickly. I was left wanting more. When Duncan confront's Kyle's father at the end, I thought it was too short an exchange. I wanted more tension, more drama. It seemed like the father, who was very nasty throughout the book, backed off very quickly. That part was a little disappointing. This is a book I enjoyed early on in my M/M reading adventure but when I revisited it today, I found it lacking & reduced my rating from ★★★★ to ★★☆ ... my main issues were the unbelievable story line & the clunky writing style ... This story was a hot burning mess from the beginning. I liked the plot but the execution of it was subpar. The dialogue between the characters were that of 12 year old boys which was really surprising after reading Bitter Creek's Redemption. That story was really good! It's like two different authors wrote these stories.

This was sweet but not very memorable. I don't remember anything bothering me about it, but I don't remember anything that was terrific about it either.
This book was just OK, very simple romance story of an abused in-the-closet virgin cowboy sought after and rescued by a mature confident cowboy. Sex language used was spicy, but for the plot it just fell flat for me.

Sweet, hot, lovely story with lovely hot as he'll cowboys...What more can a girl ask for? As always TA Chase is a sure thing for me :0)

Lightweight.
Rodeo cowboy meets son of biggest rival. That about sums this book up. An attraction neither one thought would be possible. There is parental and sibling abuse in this book, but it actuall is a very important part of the story. The sex scenes are ok. Mainily a lot of kissing and groping. The story line was good but it really lacked the sexyness of T.A.'s other books.

Nicely written story about a young man trying to live under his abusive father's thumb and the older man who brings love to his life. I liked the protags and the storyline was interesting. The ending felt a bit abrupt and I would have liked a harsher outcome for the Dad but otherwise I quite enjoyed this one.

LOVED LOVED LOVED the cowboy aspect! I also thought the age gap was perfect for these characters and this storyline. Great book!
