The Hitch-Hiker (The Tomcat Line 1) by Stevie Woods

The starting point of this novel could have been good material for a suspence/thriller one (I don't know, probably Spielberg left me with that idea when there is a truck and an highway...), and instead the output is almost a light comedy. Ian is an anthropologist/archaeologist who is trying to reach home-plate running away from his enemies: he has an artefact the evil men want and he is not ready to let it go. Without money and not trusting the...more

The Hitchhiker is the first book in the Tomcat series. This is a well written captivating plot of modern day treasure hunting. The setting is a road trip from Texas to Illinois, interwoven with cultural history surrounding the artifact. The characters are developed, highlighting the personality traits of the main characters as well as the main perpetrators. Ian is an honest, intelligent man with a natural talent for his chos...more

4.5 Gold Crowns. With a combination of mystery, suspense, romance, characters that I either really liked or wouldn’t mind erasing as well as a wonderful sense of humor—man I love the humor!—Stevie Woods has, with The Hitch Hiker, ably demonstrated that the first stories of hers that I read were not a fluke. A fun and entertaining read that involves a trucker-who is more than he appears and has a penchant for opera; and an anthropologist-among other things-who is hitchhiking in an attempt to protect an artifact that others are trying to get ahold of.

a good light read - this is a start of a series. - really liked it.

Ok m/m romantic suspense about an archeologist who's made a huge discovery and is now on the run from his jealous colleagues looking to claim the glory for themselves. When he hitches a ride with a handsome trucker, neither of them has any idea what's ahead of them.

I am a published author of gay romantic erotica - I term it such because I view my stories as primarily romance with a touch of erotica. I write well plotted tales in which sex plays a role. My work is in a variety of genres - historical, fantasy, paranormal, futuristic and contemporary.
