Guys, I can't even begin to explain how big I smiled, how loud I laughed, and how giggly I became in this installment. Call me crazy, but I guess I just completely forgot what this book was about and who was introduced in this one. Like...the amount of happiness I found reading this book was absurd...and I already want to re-read it again. Favorite re-read yet!

This is the best Mediator book so far! In the three previous books, it was always according to a model great times - ghost - a boy who wants to have a date with Suze (and is in some relation with that ghost) - ghost is beaten with some consequences to that boy. And of course there was Jesse, somewhere, usually telling Suze not to do something dangerous what she obviously does so he helps her. (And I mean every word of it in a good way, I enjoyed every single book.) But now, finally, Suze knows h ...more

Young Blood, the fourth book in the Mediator series by Meg Cabot is definitely my favourite so far!

Suzie's first summer in California doesn't quite go to plan when her stepdad forces her to either get a job or go to summer school. She chooses to work and ends up at the Pebbel Beach Hotel and Golf Resort as a daytime child minder. She is assigned to look after a unsociable young man called Jack and it soon become evident that just like Suzie he can also see spirits. Throw in Jesse, Suzie's gorge

Title: Darkest Hour/Young Blood
Series: Mediator #4
Author: Meg Cabot

This one I liked slightly less than the past one, it didn't hold me as much but that may be because of the whole...lack of Jesse thing. Jesse is definitely one of my favourite characters. The best thing about Meg Cabot's books though have to be that her main characters sort of take things into their own hands rather than depe

Another reread of the series! I just noticed how many times Suze would call another girl a "skank." And her brother Dopey also saying, "homo" when there was no need. I can understand this was written before any of our progressive stances but still, maybe they should update the material without these derogatory terms. Minus all that, the story is still solid and Suze has her flaws but I still love her and Jesse together. What a slow-burn romance!

What I Remember:

I remember really being surprised by this one and kind of shocked about how evil Paul was in this one. Because remember, I read Haunted first. If you just read Haunted, Paul just seems like a sightly sleazy boy who makes some dubious choices. But in Darkest Evil you know that he would have no problem fighting Voldemort and probably winning (he’d probably exorcise all seven pieces of Voldy’s soul and laugh about it).

I wasn't a massive fan of this Mediator sequel. Suze was a pretty terrible protagonist to read about. She was incredibly rude - yelling at little kids, calling everyone names and being rude to her stepbrothers when they really aren't that bad - and just judgmental. She needed to take a deep breath and think things through before she blurted things out or even spoke them in her head. She could be so hypocritical at times. She was always calling people out for being 'sexist' when they weren't... a ...more

In this installment we finally met Paul Slater. He was all sorts of charming and every bit as cocky as I remember. I can't wait to see more of him in the next couple books because I know I really liked him but I couldn't remember why in Darkest Hour. Here's to finding out why in the future!

Jake (aka Sleepy) is my favorite of the brothers. I don't really know why but I have just been adoring him lately.

Jesse and Suze are fabulous together as always. I love them too much. BUT THAT ENDING. I can't

One of the best of the series. Reasons include:
* Paul is an interesting complication to the Jesse/Suze relationship.
* Great finally getting more information on Jesse's background and the reason for his death.
* Love the romantic element, Suze leaving her body to bring Jesse back to earth.
* More butt kicking and supernatural action.
Ticks the boxes for me. :)
Meg Cabot, to end the book like this! Oh, God, Oh, God... I have to rush and read the next one.

Jesse querido...

I have Buffy in mind sometimes when I read this. Suze is such a kick-ass in that black clothes. And Jesse is Angel <3

So that means this Paul Slater will be Spike? No way, but he will come back, I am sure.
I don't know what it is about this series. I liked this book, but I didn't really like it. It's sort of par for the course when it comes to my response to the series, but I was really hoping that this book would break the trend.

Darkest Hour brings everything back to Jesse's death when his ex-fiancée decides that the backyard reno is digging a little too deep for her liking.

You know with this sort of plot that the focus will undoubtedly be all about the Jesse/Suze relationship. This is the firs

It is Suze's first summer in California but instead of lounging and hanging out with friends she finds herself working at a hotel as an in house baby-sitter. But it seems like having a good summer is the least of her problems when the ghost of Maria de Silva Jesse's ex fiance woke her up in the middle of the night with a knife threatening her to stop the construction in their backyard or else it would cost her her life. Suze has a pretty good idea of what is buried there - the body of Jesse; the ...more

Well, kali ini Suze liburan musim panas. dan karena ini California, maka pekerjaan untuk musim panas gampang di dapat, dan Suze pun bekerja di salah satu hotel, sebagai babysitter.

Babysitter? well yeah, aneh kan? hehehe bayangkan seorang Suze yang sradak sruduk mengasuh anak kecil. lol

but siapa di sangka anak kecil ini punya bakat yang sama dengan Suze. don't ask me what :P

Kali ini musuh Suze tak lain dan tak jarang dan tak sering dan....... adalah Maria de Silva.

masih inget? baca buku 1 gih :P

Gina and Doc, my favorites, are unfortunately MIA. But at least there's Jack, who is such a sweet kid. And can I just say, FINALLY?

I... have a lot of feeling regarding this book. Most of which I can't share because of those pesky little spoilers. So I will have to content myself with the ones I can share.

First of all, I am very glad that we finally get Jesse's story. i mean yeah, we knew about him before but he wasn't the main focus. And, I turned out, we actually didn't know the whole thing. I like that his story was finlly addressed and I have to say, this Maria chick is a world-class psycho bitch. She takes sel

I think this one was really interesting at first. I mean, talking about a murderous ex-fiancé coming back to haunt Suze and another mediator in town.. Things were really promising some action..

It was more action-packed than the previous ones but sadly, Suze recklessness knows no bounds. I felt really pissed of at her own self-destroying missions thinking that she's so untouchable and getting off way too easily.

The romance is still weird to me as I have no reason to think these two actually belon

this book has got to be the best one so far in this series. its so cute with the little mediator and how sue saves Jesse form being forced to move on. but that Paul guy needs to get some manners.

Jesse made the move! My heart!

The second half of this series is probably my favorite, I mean I love them all but at this point we are getting a main antagonist in Paul, we're finally getting into Jesse's past, and my OTP took the plunge! This is like the turning point for the series, we're getting down to business!

This is definitely my favorite of the series!

Suze's stepfather and stepbrothers are digging in the backyard for a new hot tub and find an old box of letters from Maria de Silva to Hector de Silva (Jesse). Maria de Silva happens to be the cousin that Jesse was supposed to marry, before he died and Maria ran off with a sketchy guy named Diego. Later, Suze wakes up to Maria with a knife at her throat, thr

Der erste Satz

Meine Meinung
Si
Reading Vacation

A triple decker review. This is what you end up with when a series is so good that you read the books one right after the other.

In Ninth Key, Suze spends a good part of her time trying to figure out if Tad Beaumont (aka Red) is responsible for a murder. While the interactions between Suze and Tad were nice, I was much more drawn to the scenes with Suze and Jesse. Remember Jesse, he’s the ghost who lives in Suze’s room. Less Red and more Jesse! There are some completely unexpected twists t

I had another (much better!) review written at first but Goodreads didn't save it inbetween and when I clicked the star rating it was all gone so I had to rewrite it.

I’m disappointed with Darkest Hour, especially since I didn’t like the 2nd and 3rd book of the series as much as the first one and was hoping this one would be better. The storyline was interesting enough I guess and it promises a few interesting things for the last two books but the last few chapters to be good isn’t enough for a b

This is the best series! I look forward to each one as they show up in the mail from RecordedBooks. Johanna Parker, who also narrates the Sookie Stackhouse/Southern Vampire series, is a fab voice for Suze and the other characters in this YA paranormal series. Suze is 16 and can talk to ghosts or rather they demand attention from Suze since she is one of the few mediators out there. They help ghosts get to the other side when they get lost or don't realize they are dead.
Suze loves Jesse, the 150
