“Lost Reflections” is book two in the “Almost Human” series by Melanie Nowak, and it is a direct continuation from the first book, “Fatal Infatuation.” This trilogy is not made to be read independently, and this book picks up just after the first one leaves off.

In this book, the relations that started to develop in the first volume evolve, and we learn more about the main characters. Both they and their lives are changing, and I find that appealing in the series; it is the way life works. Everyo...more

Second in a series.

It wouldn't make any sense at all if you hadn't read the first in the series, and even then that would be iffy.

I realize that I should be nicer, because Ms. Nowak has managed to get these books published, and I have never published any books.

But she needs a copy editor. She needs to cut out 3/4 of the adjectives. She needs to cut. to. the. chase.

I don't even care how this series ends. She's used entirely too many words to not get to the point. This is pretty much Twilight with...more

This is copied from my review on the Trilogy of Almost Human. Yes, I bought the big book!

I had been desperate to find a vampire series that wasn't sugar coated and soppy with teenage angst and this was it! Ms. Nowak's Almost Human series delivers that punch and breath of reality for the adult reader. Her characters were beautifully developed. I've always loved being able to 'see' into the thoughts of the various characters and not being left to guess who really feels what. I did have to purchase...more

Please note this is my own personal opinion, however I felt that this book focused too much on Cain's past...I felt that it could have been a book on it's own. Don't get me wrong, I realise that it was necessary to put this in, however it was really quite detailed and for me, detracted from the main story a little too much.

Other than that I thoroughly enjoyed the book and can't wait to get stuck into the third one.

This is a great sequel! We continue to follow Felicity, Cain, Ben, Allie, and Sindy. Most of this book is Cain's telling of his personal history. We also get to see a "relationship" between Cain and Sindy. Cain and Felicity's relationship gets hot and heavy as well. Can Sindy control her brood? Doesn't look like it!

Lost Reflections (Volume II) picks up right at the point that Fatal Infatuation (Volume I) ends. The relationship between Felicity and Cain continues and gets a little hotter. As Cain begins to feel more comfortable with Felicity, he opens up about his past, no matter how unflattering it is. Ben and Alyson still struggle with the their friend Mattie having been turned into a vampire, but each in their own way. Sindy continues with her games, but does show a softer side to Cain.

I really enjoyed L...more

Lost Reflections picks up right where Fatal Infatuation left off. Ben is trying to deal with what Sindy has done to him. Felicity and Alyson try to help Ben deal with the aftermath of Sindy's bite. I liked this book because I got to learn more about Cain's past. It was interesting to find out what his life was like before he became a vampire and the circumstances that led to his becoming a creature of the night. There is so much information he has to share with Felicity, good and bad. Melanie No...more

As I stated in my first review of this trilogy, both books took way too long begin. The same story was repeated a couple times and I felt as though the dialogue was being dragged to make more pages in the book. I fell in love with the characters and I think that's why i finished the book. But towards the end of the book it got very interesting and exciting and I felt as if I could not put the book down. Overall its a good story. However, I think it could make do without so much detailed informat...more

Lost Reflections is the second book in the first Almost Human trilogy by Melanie Nowak. Yes, it's a vampire/human romance, but don't be expecting a Twilight clone. These characters are more grown-up and the vampires can truly be scary. Having read the first book in this trilogy, I was looking forward to reading this book. I was not disappointed. If anything, this series is getting even better as it goes along. Lost Reflections continues the love story between Felicity and Cain and their relation...more

Lost Reflections is the second story in the first Almost Human trilogy. It takes up, literally, where Fatal Infatuation left off. In this story we learn more of Cain's past, see more of Sindy and learn a little of her past, Cain and Felicity's relationship evolves, we catch up with Ben and Allyson. In this book we learn that Cain may not be all that we think he is (or possibly more than we think he is according to how you look at it) and Felicity matures a bit more. The characters are fleshed ou...more

I am loving this trilogy. In this book, we hear Cain's back story which sheds light on his character. People will either love him or hate him. I love him! And the chemistry between him and Felicity is amazing! I find myself turning the page and wanting more... I can't wait to see what happens next! Next up is part 3 of the trilogy!

This second installment in the series is just as good as the first.
It was nice to pick up where we left off and the characters were still interesting. Cain is a character that most people would really like. What girl doesn't like a good-bad boy? He is just the right amount of that element, in a paranormal world.

This series just keeps getting better and better. If you like vampires and some steamy romance scenes you really need to give this series a try. Melanie Nowak is a very talented Indie writer.
