You know how if you eat too many sweets you eventually throw up? Well, I think that's where I'm at with the paranormal romance genre. It just isn't for me anymore.
Angels' Blood is listed as an "urban fantasy with romance" - well, I'm here to tell you that if this is urban fantasy, I'm Donald Trump needlessly living out my writing fantasies by having a GR account as a girl named Lora.
It is ridiculous to call Angels' Blood an urban fantasy. It has all of the classic PR trait More...

I've been a fan of Nalini Singh for several years now. I started reading her with the Silhouette Desires she published, and I liked the way she wrote intense love stories with magnetic heroes and heroines I liked. I waffled for a year or so before deciding to try her book Slave to Sensation. I was just getting into paranormal, and I wasn't sure about the sci-fi elements. Finally, I read it, and I was hooked from that point on.

Soooo... I was expecting to read a good book... but never was I expecting to find my next fav. series! I can't believe I waited this long to read this book. I just loved it. I know that some gave just 4 stars to this book, and I don't get it, it had EVERYTHING a good book should have to be one of the bests.

This was a unique take on vampires and hunters with the addition of angels as rulers, caretakers, lords, and lovers. I've always kind of had a thing for angels and I love that they're sexual beings in this series. It's one of the few things that makes me upset about Richelle Mead's Succubus series because one of the most charismatic and sexy characters has to remain celibate or he'll become a demon. LOVED. EVERY. PAGE! I picked up this book hearing great things about the series and Nalini Singh, so I gave it a shot. From the very first page, I found my eyes glued. And when I wasn’t reading, I was thinking about it. Angels’ Blood has to be one of my favourite books featuring angels. It’s simply brilliant!

A number of child-angels gather around their mother up in heaven somewhere, each taking a seat on a fluffy cloud of perfection to eagerly await the forbidden story: How Mum and Dad Met.
"Mother!" the eldest, almost a teenager, chirps. "Tell us, please!"
A chorus of cherub voice cry out in agreement like the tinkering of old church bells.
"Yes, mother!"
"Tell us!"
"Please tell us!"

I loved how fresh and original this book felt. The premise of the book/series is not something that has been hashed and rehashed a zillion times in PNR/UF fiction.
Like a lot of Singh's books I felt that the character development was a little bit lacking. And while the plot of the book is about Elena hunting an archangel gone bad, the first half consisted primarily of Elena and Raphael's flirting. It was enjoyable flirting, for sure, but I was ready for the actual book to start.

Great new paranormal romance series!
Elena is hunter born, meaning that she can sense vampires. This makes her an ideal hunter for the Guild. Her job is to go after rogue vampires. Vampires are made and controlled by Archangels. Each Archangel is over a regional area and has both angels and vampires under him/her. The Guild helps to keep rogues in line and keep humans safe. In the world of the Guild Hunters there are humans, vampires, angels, and archangels. Angels hold the power in this world but the archangels are the most powerful of them all. They are also responsible for the creation of the vampires. These vampires are humans who have signed a contract with the angels to be their servants for so many years in return for their immortality. However, sometimes those humans turned to vampires escape from their masters, the angels. Killing people wherever they go,

Maybe I should stop reading for today as I'm two for two on the fabulous meter for both books I've read today! Okay, not gonna happen :)
"Angel's Blood" is the beginning of a new series by Nalini Singh. I'm already a fan of her Psy-Changeling series and was afraid this new series was really just an off-shoot of that...but it's not. This is the first books of Nalini Singh's that I have read, and wow I have been missing out! I am glad to have found another author and series to get in to.
The book was about Rapheal the Archangel of New York City and Elena Deveraux a natural born Hunter whose job it is to hunt rogue vampires and bring them back to the angel who "owns" them. Her ability to sniff vampires out (quite literally) bring her to Rapheals attention as he needs her help tracking down a very difficult More...

*hands together in prayer* "Dear Lord, I've been really, really good this year. I've eaten all my vegetables, cleaned my plate, done my chores, brushed my teeth & even cleaned behind my ears. I've even controlled myself from bitch-slapping smacking the stupid people in my life. Please, please, please, can I have my very own Raphael? I'll love you forever if you give him to me. Amen!"

Nalini Singh’s books are always hard for me to get into, but once I get past her confusing writing style, I can’t get enough of her irresistible characters. I absolutely loved Elena and Raphael. And God, I wish I could touch his beautifully described wings...*sigh* Is Archangel's Kiss as good as this one? If so, I can't wait to read it!
Thank you, Lethal – Again! Your recommendations are always amazing.
P.S. Why don't my books have BJ scenes anymore? Ugh.

This was a really tough one for me to review. While I love Nalini Singh's writing (and this is no exception), what it came down to was I went into this book expecting an urban fantasy romance that had an HEA, and I got an urban fantasy with a little romance that had a HFN (happy for now) ending. Had I known that this series was (a) more urban fantasy than romance and not an equal blending, and (b) it seems to be focused on basically one couple throughout, I probably wouldn't have started it.

Wow...
With Archangel's Blade having just released this month, I figured it was time to finally read the first one. I can't tell you how wonderful this book was.
Nalini Singh has such a seductive way of writing, that she pulls you in and draws you close, until you can only eat, sleep, and breathe her world. I take that back-there was no sleeping. I stayed up late to read.

Ok, I so did not want to fall in love with another storyline...really I didn't but...I did. This is the first of this author that I have read and must say, I'm impressed. If there is one thing that I love is a hero that starts out borderline but is redeemed because of love both for his heroine and who and what she is to him and those she loves. Raphael is intriguing to behold at first, but quickly moves to downright scary but over the course of the story, he grows as does those loyal to him.

I am so excited I’ve just found a new favorite author—Nalini Singh is amazing!
I have seen this book so many times and have passed it over time and again. I like vampires, witches, and sometimes even werewolves—but angels? That’s just stupid—or so I thought. I would have never read this book if it wasn’t recommended by someone whose opinion I trusted, and all I can say is thank you, thank you, thank you (you know who you are).

Nalini, sure has the ability to have me slaved to her series. The Guild Hunter was no exception.
I must admit, that i never really cared for the type of characters this series portray; An arrogant angelic race, blue collar vampires, and bottom tier humans. The high rating however, was my conclusion as to how Nalini makes all those elements interesting, and well cohesive. She has a brilliant imagination for building worlds. This was my first book by Nalini Singh, but it wasn't my last. After reading this book I got online and ordered all of the books in her other series.
I really liked the world that Singh created with this novel. It is definitely a concept I haven't read before. I love when someone comes out with a new way to portray angels and vampires. I didn't just love the book for its world though. The author did a great job creating compelling characters.

If you ever thought angels are harp-playing-spiritual-songs-singing beings with peaceful smiles on their faces Nalini Singh´s archangels are going to teach you different. Unearthly beautiful, lethal, cruel, powerful, impossible to kill and entirely non-humon, they rule their territories with an iron fist and everyone - human or non-human - is punished without mercy when not obeying their orders. No wonder Elena Deveraux, a guild hunter gets an uneasy feeling in her stomach when "requested"

Artist: Ni Anluain. Inspired by Nalini Singh's character Archangel Raphael
★★★★✩ I read Angels' Pawn first, thinking it a prequel, when really it is just a companion novella to Angels' Blood. For me, this was a disadvantage; while I loved Elena in this story, Raphael was not a very likeable character in that one, IMHO, and I wondered not how, but if Ms. Singh was going to be able to covert me to a Raphael fan. She did, but the going was rough.

Prior to reading ANGEL'S BLOOD, I was a Nalini Singh virgin. I'd heard nothing but good, but just never found myself in the mood for paranormal romance. My feelings on the genre are uncertain at best. However, this book, the first in Singh's new Guild Hunter series, is being billed as urban fantasy, which made it seem more palatable and like a good place to start. It does have several of my favorite urban fantasy characteristics. Kick-A** heroine, deadly vamps of the non-sparkly variety, strong

Ohmygosh! Ohmygosh! Ohmygosh! This was truly different from the YA Angel Novels. So different from Fallen and Hush Hush. And I think this was WAAAAAAAY better! It was full of emotions. Dark, intense lust with passion of the side. Don't forget the steamy DOT DOT DOT scenes! :D My expectations were clearly just about right!

I thought Nalini Singh did a great job with this book--I loved the concept. I loved the characters. I loved that she stepped away from her comfort zone of Psy-Changeling style PNR. This book seems more like urban fantasy romance to me--there is lots of action and lots of sexual tension between vampire hunter, Elena & Archangel, Raphael. If you have read the Psy-Changeling series by Singh, this series is different, but equally, if not more so enjoyable.
