This is a lovely book that has a great section on how to choose colors to go together in a way that I think will make sense to knitters. It then goes into different ways to use multiple colors in knitting, such as stripes and slip stitches. I'm still not sure I completely understand the whole slip stitch method, but I'm someone who usually needs a video to cement what I've read.

The only downside to this book, in my opinion, is that it doesn't address Fair Isle or intarsia, or other stranded knit

Recommends it for: beginning knitters
A clear and understandable reference for beginning knitters ready to attempt colorwork. This book deals only with striping and mosaic techniques, but goes into depth on the multitude of ways these can be used.

Pretty simplistic-- doesn't address insartia or fair isle-- mostly just how to use slip stitches and how to do stripes. Good for beginners.

Helpful, with color stitch patterns too.

Recommends it for: knitters interested in color theory
Excellent reference for colour theory and a number of pattern designs are included in several different styles. The only thing is, some of the patterns are really dated-looking and not something I'd be likely to make. The pattern designs would be great practice as swatches though!

love that there is a large section of color theory, and that there are alternate colorway options given for lots of the patterns. Lots of stitch variety and several full item patterns too.

Minor quibble: all patterns are charted only, why can't there be written instructions too?

I would have given it a 2 1/2 star rating if I could. It has some good information, but the patterns are really ugly.

The technique sections were interesting, useful, and clearly explained. The projects weren't very enthusing.
