*This series is receiving a solid 5 star rating and this review will be placed on every volume for organizational purposes.*
Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan, or just titled Nurarihyon No Mago ("Nurarihyon's Grandson", if I'm not mistaken) is something very dear to my heart. For one thing, I have never ever loved something so unconditionally that I would watch the anime in days and read the manga in days. I have loved many, many series, but not to where I actually felt the need to watch and read ever

Synopsis:

When night falls, the yokai king will rise.

Reads R to L (Japanese Style), for audiences T

While the day belongs to humans, the night belongs to yokai, supernatural creatures that thrive on human fear. Caught between these worlds is Rikuo Nura. He's three-quarters human, but his grandfather is none other than Nurarihyon, the supreme commander of the Nura clan, a powerful yokai consortium. So, Rikuo is an ordinary teenager three quarters of the time, until his yokai blood awakens. Then Rik

Reason for Reading: next in the series

Once again Nura's turf is being challenged. This time seven mysterious travellers arrive to take over Riku's new position and the whole Nura clan. They infiltrate Riku's school and plan to take him down without a care to any human casualties. Riku will have to call upon his entire Yokai Clan to fight this battle.

While the majority of this volume is dedicated to the one plot, there is a side story which introduces us to another type of being that also makes u

Second verse, same as the first...

The plot for every volume has followed the exact same recipe: outside yôkai clans wage war against the Nura clan in a political cockfight, ending with Rikuo transforming and saving the day. Surprisingly, it doesn't feel overly redundant. I believe this is in part due to the huge array of new interesting yôkai characters continually being introduced. Plus, I love it when Rikuo takes on his badass yôkai form. It never gets old.

In Nura: Rise of the Y

Not as good as the first 3. A great continuation of this very enjoyable, spooky, frantic, creepy-yet-goofy brand of storytelling we have come to expect from the series.

finally i was able to give 4 stars to this chapter! it really really was better than its previous volumes. i really liked the comedy and the most funny thing od all kiyotsugu-kun has come with an hillarious name for his group- Kiyo Cross Supernatural Investigating Squad! really how did he come up with it!
also the most interestingface a omyoji clan girl named keikain yura.
i really think this manga is gonna get better and better!

This arc with Kurotabo and the cursed girl was quite good. I loved the frame at the end with the cranes and how Lord Senba was touched by the 1000 the girl had made.

The 88 Demons are starting to come out. We get a long arc with back story on Tamazuki and Inugami. I didn't find his ability that nasty or incredible, I was more shocked what Tamazuki did to win his loyalty.

BOTTOM LINE: A little boring :(
