This is a great book for any Harry Potter fans out there. It has wonderful images from all movies released to date, as well as a couple of preview pages for the last movie (coming out July 15). The processes of movie making are discussed, and include thoughts from the actors, directors, designers, and JK Rowling. There are also samples of tickets, brochures, maps, etc that you may slide out of envelopes to examine. Interesting, fun read!

Absolutely spiffing good fun!
The 5 star reviews are spot on for this terrific addition to the Harry Potter world. I finally got a chance to see it in person last night and I will be ordering one for myself and another to give as a gift to my brother, who I think will appreciate it even more than I do.

Normally I don’t elaborate on products or production based book, but this one is good enough to do just that.
With the end of the Harry Potter film franchise nearing, it seemed the right time to go back and savour the highlights of the ten-year long series. Harry Potter: Film Wizardry does just that: a scrapbook that encompassed the decade-long saga, where everyone from the producers, directors, and production designer explain in details how they conceptualised some of the plot points More...

This was one of my Christmas gifts, and I spent most of Christmas day reading this book. It is full of many cool things. There are little envolopes that have a bunch of stuff from the movies. Harry's acceptance letter to
Hogwarts, the Maurader's Map, Dolores Umbridge's educational decrees. You can't understand my delight as I turned each page to find... stuff. Really cool stuff.

There still isn't any Harry Potter art books, but this movie companion is probably the best thing any fan could wish for.
Harry Potter Wizardry is 160-page hardcover and designed like a scrapbook with little goodies — booklets, stickers, maps, even Harry's letter of acceptance to Hogwarts, etc - attached to the pages. The cover is also nicely embossed. It's printed by publisher Collins Design.
The book covers all the seven More...

An absolute must-have for all Potter fans, this Brian Sibley book is all about the magic of Harry Potter films. Think of it as a Harry Potter making-of extras in all of the HP movie DVDs, except they are in words (instead of in moving pictures) and more in-depth than anything I've ever seen in the DVD extras. I can't comment on it chapter by chapter; there are simply too many goodness inside this book. But suffice to say the book will appeal to those fans who are looking for collectible items AN

How I Came To Read This Book: I think I spotted it at Costco and browsed through it at Chapters and was completely sold on it, at least enough to put it on my Xmas list, where I received it from my mom and dad.
The Plot: It's essentially a scrapbook of the seven released Harry Potter films (plus a brief preview of the 8th). Jam-packed with notes from the actors, producers, directors, and crew members, it tells the story of how things came to be in the Potter world. It also features lo More...

This scrapbook-style book gives us the inside scoop on how the Harry Potter films were created. It includes essays from the cast and crew about the techniques used to bring the magic to life as well as anecdotes about things that happened on the set (for instance, Helen Bonham Carter accidentally ruptured Matthew Lewis' eardrum with her wand as she enthusiastically portrayed Bellatrix messing with Neville). We learn how they made the Quiddich players fly; how the underwater and in-the-air scenes

Just splendid! Thank you so much, Annie, for the great gift :-)
Highly recommended to fans of the HP series. You will find so many amazing behind-the-scenes stories and interesting tidbits; I love the blend of insights about/from the actors, as well as the directors, screenwriters, set designers, props, costumes, etc. It's just fantastic! So much more detailed (and fun!) than I could have imagined.

A fantastic book for any serious Harry fan. It has inside scoops (such as set/costume inspirations, actor recollections, and concept art), examines most main characters and locations that appear in each of the films and includes your very own copy of some of the paper props used (my favourite is the Marauder's Map). The only thing I didn't like was that it didn't include Deathly Hallows part 2 to the same extent as it did the others (only showing 2 sneak peeks at Gringotts and the Room of Requir

A totally entertaining book for fans of the HP movie franchise. Filled with insider tid-bits and behind-the scenes factoids from all 7 of the movies. Members from the cast and crew contribute to the sometimes funny, sometimes informative and always fascinating phenom that are the Harry Potter movies. Attention to creative and artistic detail is evident throughout the book. It's easy to get lost in just looking at all the tiny, (almost unseen), but beautifully rendered artistic elements throu

For any Harry Potter fan, you might just want to check this book out.
Harry Potter: Film Wizardry is the ultimate book for any HP fan because of all the content inside. Not only do you get to learn about how the films were made, but you also get a bunch of extra "pull-out" stuff in the book, too. Like there's a page all about Dolores Umbridge's office design, and there's actual Proclamation Posters that you can pull out and hang up. On another, there's a Quidditch World Cup brochu More...

This book was AMAZING!! It was so beautifully made. In fact, the format of the book was designed by the two people who made the props for all the Harry Potter movies. There were great pictures of early sketches and concept art made by the art department that worked on the films and plenty of obscure facts for the big fans of the series.
Each page spread is about either a character or one of the movie scenes. I loved the facts about each actor. For example, there was a story about Emma More...

OhmiGod, this is the awesomest collectible volume EVAH.
I don't usually talk like this, but I'm swept by the wonderfulness of this work. Very expensive, detailed and remarkable work done in this book by the graphic designers of the Harry Potter movies themselves!
It's infused with information, a lot of which I did not know and it has splendid items that every Harry Potter fan would die to have. I am most excited for The Marauders' Map, to which I whispered, "mischief More...

As a creative collaboration that explores the production of the Harry Potter films, it's fascinating reading with lift-outs and fold-outs to keep the inner eight-year-old highly amused. It's as much a scrapbook of all the creative efforts that went into the films as it is a gift for fans, a way of holding a piece of the Wizarding world in your hands. Having said that though, I can't help but (mildly) gripe about how... over-stylised some things look. (I thought the aged yet modern cereal boxes t

This book is eye poppingly awesome. You think "eye poppingly" isn't a word? Just look at this book and you'll understand. It's totally full of Harry Potter stuff. All this information about the movies, and the stories, and the actors. I really loved the part about the graphic designers who got to decide how the printed world looked and designed all the Quidditch posters, newspapers, potion bottle labels, etc.

This is book is totally awesome (ahem. very potter musical reference)! You find out everything about the films - the best part is that it shows you all the things you only see for a split second in the movies. For example, you get to see a bunch of Weasly's Wizard Wheezes pamphlets and products, and how the quidditch/school robes they wear have changed slightly over the years. The actors and directors talk about the filmmaking and how they feel about it. They also tell you how they found the per

I absolutely loved this book!
First off, it's absolutely beautiful. It was designed by the same graphic artists that designed all the graphic and printed materials for the movies (books, newspapers, wanted posters, signs, invitations, the Marauder's Map, etc.) and even contains tons of interactive and removable paper ephemera and facsimile reproductions of props from the movies, such as a program from the Quidditch World Cup and Harry's Hogwart's letter. This book is great for all harry potter fans! Its 140 pages long and includes things from all 8 movies. Yes, even DH part 2! It is really in depth, I never knew how much thought they put into making the movie! I am not done yet but it is not a story, but an in depth look at the making of all the movies. Things are included with the book-such as the Maraders Map, and harrys letter to hogwarts, and a yule ball invitation-So far my favorites parts are the Yule Ball and the Wedding. I LOVE THE

Got this for Christmas and actually read it all the way through. It's a illustrated book of the making of the Harry Potter films which includes copies of many of the props used in the film like the Marauder’s Map, Umbrage’s Educational Decrees, Weazley's Wizard Weezes product catalog, and the list goes on. Much like the Harry Potter novels show us just a glimpse of the world J.K. Rowling created, the Harry Potter movies only show a glimpse of the world the filmmakers created. This book delves de

I loved this book! It should be in the hands of any Harry Potter Fan.
This book contain a lot of informtion, most any harry potter fan would know. But there was also a lot of inside iformation, like what happened behind the scenes, stastics of the set and other things as well.
As an added bonus this book contain a lot of "memroilla". There was the letter harry recieved in the first film, yule ball invitation, qudditch world cup and other fantastic thing.

Okay how amazing is this book, love, love, love. I can’t help it sometimes I’m more concerned with how the movies were made then how the stories are told. It got programed into me when I was about twelve years old, I just started wondering what things were like behind the scenes-and I know for a lot of kinds this would ruin the magic but for me it just got more fascinating. And for me there isn’t as many books with so much thought and intrigue behind them like the Harry Potter ones. It was grate

Lovingly crafted and fascinating to browse through. The sort of book you can read in any order and will look at over and over again and find something new. If you're a fan of the series, it will please you to see the small details in all of the memorabilia that's been collated. It's nice to see the model makers and behind the scenes people get some credit for their hard work. A lot of time has been put into this book and seems to reflect the love that those working on the series had for it. It's

This is without a doubt the absolute best movie companion book I have ever seen. It contains a ton of information about the creating of the movies, including interviews with cast and crew, descriptions of the special effects, explanations of how things were translated from book to film, and more. It also contains amazing extras. There are pull outs that include a copy of Harry's Hogwarts letter, an invitation to the Yule Ball, a map of Diagon Ally, and more. A must for every Harry Potter fan. This book is so dense and detailed you may want to enjoy it in small doses so you can appreciate every nuance. Additionally, you will need to set it on a large desk or table in order to have room and support for the many pages that fold out and the many inserts you can remove and examine closer (like the Marauder's Map and Umbridge's Educational decrees.) Full of first-hand accounts from the actors, directors, producers and creative staff of the many Harry P

This is put together like a scrap book with various information on the movies, the actors, props, scenes, producers etc... The book is grouped into chapters on each movie. It was really great reading through all the extra behind the scenes info on the movies and the insights that the actors and directors added in.
This was also great to read right after visiting the Harry Potter Exhibition in NYC where some of the props and costumes were on display.

I can't say I read this from cover to cover, but when I was cataloging this book to add into my library's collection, I definitely took a few minutes to look this one over. I couldn't help it. The illustrations are so wonderful and it really covers all aspects of the making of these popular films. On that first inspection I liked it so much I got it for my friend who's most obsessed with Harry Potter for Christmas that year. Now I get to flip through it whenever I'm over at her place.
