New York Times bestselling author Joy Fielding showcases her talent for “chillingly satisfying twists” (People) in her sexiest thriller yet—where one seductive night in a South Beach bar morphs into a razor’s-edge adventure with deadly consequences.

It starts as a joke among two brothers and their friend, out for a night of partying at the Wild Zone. Who will be the first

I have been reading Joy Fielding for as long as she has been writing. This book was on rapid reads at my library and I grabbed it and this is, I guess, the only thing that has kept me reading. It has almost no plot. Just two brothers and their failing love interests and competitiveness and their inability to know who they are as men. A shallow book which....in the middle..seems to be going nowhere. A friend of one of the brothers has a gun and a sociopathic personality and a biiiiig deal is made ...more

Joy Fielding usually writes a great story, but this one just fell flat. First the book meananders along with the promise of something exciting happening, but yet, nothing much ever does. All the action and twists occur at the very end of the book, and the biggest twist was far to implausible and here is why: (spoiler alert here): At the end, it turns out that the two female characters had basically plotted the entire scenerio, the murder of Suzy's abusive husband. The story claims that Suzy and ...more

Wow, was this book ever terrible. I grabbed it from the "New Fiction" shelf at the library while there with children in tow. I thought it was something by the author of _Bridget Jones' Diary_, but that is HELEN Fielding. So instead of light, British chick lit, I got a "thriller." But it was really, really bad. The characters acted randomly, swinging wildly from docile to aggressive, good to bad. It wasn't so bad I couldn't finish it, but lord, it wasn't good.

Although it was a fairly simple plot, it was written well enough to make it difficult to put down. A lonely woman goes to the bar and befriends the bartender, Kirstin. Her boyfriend, Jeff, his best friend, Tom and his step brother, Will are at the bar. Jeff decides to make a bet to see which of the 3 of them can persuade the woman to go home with them. Both Jeff and Tom have been to Afghanistan, Tom was dishonorably discharged after a event with an Afghanistan woman. He is hot headed and angry. ...more

Joy Fielding is a bestselling author, but for some reason this is the first book that I have read by her. Fielding explores what happens when a small bet turns into a big amount of trouble.

It all starts in a bar called The Wild Zone. Two brothers Will and Jeff, who don't know each other very well and couldn't be more different and Jeff's best friend Tom, are drinking having a good time and looking to have some fun. Enter Suzy, who has come into the Wild Zone a few times, but is looking for somet

Although I do enjoy Joy Fieldings books, I find that her newest books are not of the same quality as her earlier books which are real thrillers. Given that, this book did hold my attention and keep me reading to find out what was going to happen. I had figured out the twist at the end so reading it just verified what I was thinking.

Three friends were sitting in a bar and began betting that they would or wouldn't do certain things. A nice looking lady entered the bar and sat down at a table and

Listened to this story on audio book while on the road and found it to be a steady, intriguing novel that had a pretty good, fast paced ending. The characters had little to no back story hence the three star rating. The characters were very one dimensional, instant love happened throughout the book and the damsel in distress theme was very evident (as well as every female in the book being weak, damaged, etc.). So overall, the story line consisted of three guys in a bar, betting on who can bed a ...more

I didn't quite expect the way it ended. But the premeditation was there, as is always apparent on her previous novels. Typical Fielding. She would keep you guessing and, in the end, prove you wrong.

"The Wild Zone" is a suspenseful, sometimes-edge-of-your-seat journey filled with intrigue and mysterious relationships (some good, some bad). I appreciated the slow and steady pace Joy Fielding gave the book, you never felt like she was in a fall-on-your-face rush. An issue of mine though was that the pace never really switched up. If anything, it got slower midway through.

I still liked reading this Joy Fielding creation and had to pick up my jaw off the ground at the end. I knew there would b

Read all of Joy Fielding's book - this one is her latest. 3 men in a bar make a bet to see which one of them can be the first to seduce a mysterious looking woman. They dont realize that there harmless bet will take on a life of its own, and change all of their lives. Expected some of what happened in the book, was TOTALLY surprised by the ending!

I thought I had it all figured out, but I was wrong. The ending was a complete surprise, which I guess is a good thing. It did seem a little too contrived at times and the most villainous character seemed more of a caricature of a villain than an actual one. Might give another Joy Fielding a try, though. Good writing. Good twists.

"The Wild Zone, enter at your own Risk."

This book was well written and fast-paced, but I just didn't care for the storyline. It was just too full of dumb, abusive men.

Set during a sultry summer of Miami, this languid tale reflects the lethargic effect that hot humid climes have on people living there even for a short time. This is especially true for the entire cast of characters, all of who prance about a bit aimlessly about their sorry lives, talk dreamily and let events decide the next day’s agenda. The story begins when three men in a bar make a bet on who amongst them would bed the single white female sitting all by herself sipping a drink.( it’s so easy ...more

Against what seems to be popular opinion, I enjoyed "The Wild Zone." The book's pacing was kind of slow, but I didn't mind. this is not a plot-based story, but a character-based story. And the characters were interesting. It's amazing how much happens in the last 20 or so pages of the book. Very sudden, leaving me surprised. Not to mention the twist at the end. I found it in the LGBT section of the library, and as I got further in I assumed it had been misshelved, but it had not. All in all, an ...more

Joy Fielding's "Wild Zone" takes you into the ordinary world of her characters - the people who live next door, down the street, in the same city. The people who are just struggling to make it through each day, despite the blows their pasts have pummelled on them. And then, what happens when a select group comes together and their lives become intermingled ... that is when the action begins.

Fieldings did a good job of pitting family against family, friend against friend, friend against family wh

Jeff and Tom have been friends for a long time and served in Afghanistan together, returning home with very different records: Jeff, with a medal, and Tom, a dishonorable discharge.

Envy and jealousy reign supreme in Joy Fielding’s THE WILD ZONE. Every individual in the book has a run in with the “green eyed monster” at some point in the story. The cast of characters include….

Will, a shy PhD candidate currently taking a break from his studies at Princeton who envies his brother Jeff’s good looks and easy way with the ladies particularly his current live in Kristin;

Jeff, macho physical trainer and potential poster boy for male chauvinism. He has never been in love and maint

Joy Fielding is another of my most favourite authors of all times! It is probably my MOST favourite author and the reason for that might be that her book Sea Jane Run was the first adult fiction that I read when I was 14. Before that I was only reading young adult fiction. I am glad that I chose a books by Joy Fielding to be my first one. The moment I started reading I knew that I would love the book.
