Having enjoyed the last TQ colour box story from this author, Silver Lining, I grabbed at the chance to review another of Parhelion’s historicals. This time the focus is on the 1940s and is set in the artistic and bohemian Californian town of Laguna Beach.

Lucius Parhelion is one of those writers whom I trust. I will (and do) buy anything by this person. Lavender has been my favorite of all his/her stories so far. At least it's the one my thoughts have most often gone back to. I think it was because, unlike one or two of the other books, it ended on a note of hope that the characters really could be together in the future. The main character, Tony, was really in love with Ben-- so much so that he would have been happy just to have him as a friend...more
