Erin Kellison's Shadow series continues to impress me. This book focuses on Custo (from the first book) who is determined to protect a dancer while trying to find a traitor in Segue. This book has angels, wraiths, Fae, a Shadow Wolf, and Death. I don't want to say too much and spoil anything for those who haven't read the first book (Shadow Bound).
This book was a bit slower that the first but still held a good pace. The whole story takes place in a few days. Paranormal, romance and action filled

In the beginning Custo is murdered & goes to heaven. He is an angel, but is confused as to how that could be, because he has done some bad things in his life.

Annabella is a ballet dancer who spins magic through her dancing. Because she has no real control over the magic, she blends the shadow world with the human world pulling Custo & the "Wolf" through to the human world accidentally.

Custo decides he needs to protect Annabella from the "Wolf", while trying to return the Wolf to his ow
Ballerina Annabella's dancing is truly magical. While practicing for her debut as Giselle, Annabella transcends the mundane world and touches the shadow world of the fae - and unwittingly allows a creature of the shadow to pass through. But at the same time a creature of light also enters the world. Custo, who somehow ended up as an angel after his death (in [[ASIN:B003TO68CI Shadow Bound]]), returns to bring intel to aid Adam in the battle against the Wraiths but ends up as captivated by Annabe ...more

When I picked up this book I actually expected it to pick up where the first book left off and resume with Adam and Talia's story. But it doesn't, the story actually picks up two years later from where the first ended and our hero this time is Custo, Adam's best friend. For those that have read it, Custo died in the first book, tortured to death in order to save Adam and Talia's life. His noble sacrifice has earned him a place in heaven as

1. Erin Kellison's writing is The Awesomesauce. 2. This is a sequel that doesn't suck. 3. Custo is The Yum. No, seriously: Custo's The Yum.

The first book in this series, Shadow Bound, blew me away with just how dark it was for a Paranormal Romance. I loved the terrible, beautiful, hopeful world ... I loved the characters ... and I ABSOLUTELY wanted more. Shadow Fall is slightly less bleak, but just as incredible.

It begins with Custo. He was tortured to death in Shadow Bound and is now chilling i
While still a fun read, sadly, Shadow Fall lacks the engaging characters that drove Kellison's first novel Shadow Bound . Neither Custo nor Annabella have qualities that made me like them enough to care. Perhaps this is because their romance was so rushed. Shadow Bound's Adam and Talia reappear here and their love story was/is far more compelling despite their grumpy/emotionally distant characterizations. The plot was less exciting as well. In my opinion, having it follow Giselle's storyline (al ...more
I really enjoyed Shadow Bound so was looking forward to picking up Shadow Fall which is the second book in Erin Kellison's Shadow series. Please note that this review will contain slight spoilers for the first book in the series so please don't read further if you've not already read it.

I had expected the story to pick up immediately after the ending of Shadow Bound so it was quite a surprise when I discovered that two years had passed since the events in the first book. Custo was tortured and k
For those of you who have not yet discovered author Erin Kellison, I seriously suggest you do so. Put her name on that list of must read authors.. get to know her because this woman writes a wicked story!!

I first had the privilege of reading Ms. Kellison's Soul Kissed and fell unquestionably in love. And then I found out there was so much more to the series.. Shadow Fall is actually book two in the Shadow Series.. I haven't been able to get my hands on book one yet but I will do so and soon.

Custo Santavari has been murdered. After two years of being in limbo, he wants to return to Earth because he feels he is still needed on the mortal plane. His good friend, Adam Thorne runs The Segue Institute, which is a research facility that focuses on the growing wraith population. Wraiths are a type of paranormal creature that causes havoc on Earth. A select group of mortals are at war with the wraiths who have given up their humanity for immortality. Custo has found a way to return to Earth ...more
When I started out reading this I almost put it aside to try reading later, but I'm glad I didn't. What a well written book, it just grips you. The whole mystery of the shadow and the magic of Annabella's dancing. Custo is what I look for in a hero; the hunky guy who puts others before him. The sacrifices this man makes there is no way you don't fall for him. Poor Annabella her beautiful ballet dancing causes her so much grief, a wolf hunts her and a stranger takes her on a wild adventure. Thoug ...more

This book is worth the five stars! Don't let anybody tell you any different! Custo He is dedicated, strong, sexy, and in love. Not only that he is a bad boy turned angel! Again you have all the old favorites plus a few have the fey, the wraiths, a mermaid, a scary shadow wolf, and Death himself to keep this story of Shadowland pumping the blood!

This story is quite different from the first in the series as far as the storyline goes although it is a continuation. I was not prepared for
Book two in this series, after Shadow Bound gets the five star rating for one of THE best beginnings to a book I have ever read! The beginning of this book is actually taken from the middle of the first book, but told in horrific detail form the standpoint of the victim, who is also the hero in this book! Adding to demons, Death, Shadows, wraiths are angels! Good vs Evil, Hate vs Love...great story, lots of angst!
My thoughts: I just didn't like this one as much as the first. I loved seeing Adam and Talia again, but just wasn't as interested in Custo and Annabella. I actually wished we had more interaction with Talia. She's one of the reasons I liked the first book so much. I will definitly read the next because I'm curious about shadowman. Just hoping the next is better.

Just like the first in the series, I really did not connect with the characters. The storyline was good. I liked the premise of Custo being an angel come back to earth to help Adam and the artist draws their inspiration through the Shawdowland but I still just did not really connect with Annabella and Custo.
Was a good sequel. I liked that it carried over most of the charcters. When it came to describing the shadow world the author tended to be long winded, but on the whole a fun read. :)
I enjoyed the sequel as much as the first book. Very glad the Custo was given his own story, I really like his character.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This being the second installment in the Shadow series, I thought I'd get more of the same from the first one. Totally not true! This book was a great re-invention of the series, complete with a new set of boy/girl romantic interests and a flash forward in time of 2 years. This story follows Annabella, a ballerina with some latent shadow abilities, and Custo, who we previously met as Adam's right hand man in Book 1.

It's been a long time since I read the first book in this series, so I was a little concerned that I might not remember the details. Interestingly enough, I don't think that really mattered since most of this book takes place in a slightly different time frame.

I honestly didn't remember Custo from the first book. But, his death was horrible. We're spared the graphic details, but you sure can imagine it. I loved the he would not accept that he made it to heaven. He was convinced there had been a

Luckily, the first book in the series was a cheapie/freebie at amazon, so I read it first. You really do need to read the books in order or you will be completely lost as this, the second books, picks right up where the first book leaves off. The world and backstory is woven in the first book as well.

I truly enjoyed this book. I liked the first book, but was completely engrossed in this book. My heart was heavy with Custo in the first book and loved his story here. Although this is of
Erin Kellison's Shadow Fall was a GREAT followup to Shadow Bound! This time Custo takes the lead as one of the main narrators and we get to know a little more about him and what he went through before he was killed. He manages to escape from Heaven to return to Earth for he has another message to tell Adam and Segue. Something he was unable to pass along before he died. There was not one, but two traitors at Segue, one was the man who killed him...and the other has yet to be revealed. Even Custo ...more

Shadow Fall is not a typical paranormal romance. It is a dark and sometimes disturbing urban paranormal tale and is book 2 in the series. I have not read the first book and I had no trouble at all getting into this book and going with the flow of the story. I will say that after reading this book I went to Amazon and bought book 1 and 3. Book 1 is FREE right now (9/18/13) and Shadow Fall is only $0.99 so go grab them! Two books for $0.99 can't be beat. This is the second book in the shadow series. I fell in love with this series and just had to know more about its characters and its world just from reading a short story by this author. I had mistakenly bought Shadowman (Shadow #3) by Erin Kellison which is technically the fourth book. I set it aside later and forgot.about it for a little while until I ran across the short story on amazon and then I was hooked. I love how each book overlapse with the story line but the main story revolves around two different main characte ...more

This book picks up with Custo who was killed in the first book. He is now an angel and is looking to get back to earth to warn his best friend Adam there is still a traitor in their midst at the Segue Institute. He tricks Shadowman (death) into a trade that allows him to fall to earth. En route, he comes across a ballerina, Annabella, who he immediately finds himself drawn to her. He is not the only one, as a wolf from the Shadow Lands crossed over with Custo and immediately wants Annab

I really enjoy the world Kellison has built. In the first book we learn about the Shadowlands, a place in between that is filled with Fae magic. The Shadowman, Death, ushers souls from the mortal realm through this area to Heaven or Hell, but he fell in love with a mortal woman and abandoned his job. This caused a thinning of the boundary and let an evil demon escape to Earth, who crea

How can a man who has killed for a living end up in heaven? Custo was wondering that very thing on the day he was killed by a Wraith. He had to get back to earth to tell his best friend that there was a traitor in their group and he would do anything to do just that. So he tricked Death and traded places with him. Once he arrives back on earth he finds himself saving a ballerina named Annabella from a shadow wolf. He has to protect Annabella, find Adam and help search out the traitor and keep De ...more
After the creepy seduction of BLACK SWAN, I was more than ready to be swept away by the world of ballet (and so happy that Annabelle was less nuts and more fun). SHADOW FALL was a well balanced book, with any of the angel-mythology weak spots being augmented by the creepy deliciousness of the Shadow Wolf. More primal and petulant than evil, Kellison did a wonderful job writing the back and forth between Wolf and Annabelle, while still making a relationship with Custo a reasonable possibility.
