We love these books! These absolutely charming stories help kids understand - and handle - difficult emotions, including anger, jealousy, sadness, and fear. What makes them special is that they feature familiar situations that kids relate to and offer simple solutions that children can actually implement. Wonderful illustrations, easy to read. A good enough series. It held my 4 year olds interest and he identified well with it, nodding his head as we read along. We also read When I Care about Others, which is probably even better, as it explains empathy, a very timely concept to understand for 3-4 year olds ...

Recommends it for: therapists, children, parents to teach children about feelings
Shelves: therapy, feelings
First time I've read a book in this series and I really liked it. The pictures are cute and it teaches good concepts to children. As a social worker/therapist, it was fun to see that this was written by a social worker. I look forward to reading other books in this series.

a little bear tells about things that frighten him, like his mom going away ect. this is a great book to talk about feeling and getting in touch with them and naming feelings. great for sneak -in- reading or when someone in the class is dealing with fears and emotions
I've been collecting all these Cornelia Spelman books about feelings for the library. They are good for guidance class or other classroom discussions with younger students about dealing with feelings appropriately (or even identifying feelings).

This book helps children to understand what they are feeling and discover ways to cope with those feelings that are appropriate. Great for young children.
This series of "feel" books are helpful to children and their parents as they explore and come to understand different emotions.
