But before he could do anything, he lost in court and was sent to another middle school called JFK (Jail for Kids). It was very awful. The teachers were really mean and they killed you at gym. I think Framed is a good casual read. It start's with the protaganist Griffin being accused of stealing a Jets Super Bowl ring since his retainer was in the case where the ring was. Griffin was getting many punishments like having to go to another school and having a police detector on his ankle. At the other school Griffin had to start going to he met a boy named Sheldon. He knew that pack rats often take shiny items from places so Griffin made a plan to clear his name. The plan worked and he p...more

I chose Framed because I had read the first book of the series Swindle and I really like the authors work so I decided I would give this book a try. The plot of this book is about a group of kids that have gone through so much together and got into trouble with the law and with school many times. They get a new principal and a super bowl ring turns up on campus and is put on display at the school and it suddenly goes missing. All eyes are turned on them. Its not as much as a quote but a saying "...more

I have been a fan of Korman's for years, but I have to say this book was a bit disappointing. This appears to be the third book in a series with an ensemble of characters. I didn't read the first two, and the first chapter of this book introduced them all in quick succession, with little description to discern who was whom (I hadn't even realized Pitch was a girl until several chapters in). Worse, the point of view jumped between several characters, and I had a hard time keeping track of them. E...more
With summer camp season coming up, I'm on a role of reading fast paced, rather silly books that appeal to boys and reluctant readers, and this is a good one. The second in a series of books featuring "the man with the plan" Griffin Bing and his group of crime solving friends, Framed finds Griffin as the lead suspect when a Super Bowl ring goes missing, with Griffin's retainer in the spot where it used to be! Griffin's not the only one in trouble though, one of friend Savannah's menagerie of anim...more
Framed is a realistic fiction novel by Gordon Korman and is the third book in a series. Framed takes place in Cedarville, a town in southern Long Island, when main character Griffon Bing is blamed for stealing a valuable Superbowl ring from his school. Griffon is innocent, but nobody believes him except his friends. Griffon is nicknamed "The Man With The Plan" for a good reason, but each attempt he makes with his friends to clear his name just gets him into deeper trouble. He gets sent to JFk,...more
This book is about a boy named Griffin who is being blamed for something he didn't do. The schools got a super bowl ring that belonged to a famous football player that was born in Cederville. His wife donated the ring to the school. A couple of days later the ring was stolen and the only thing that was left behind was a retainer that belongs to Griffin. Now everybody thinks that Griffin took the ring but nobody has proof that the ring was stolen by him except for the retainer. griffin is trying...more
This book was as captivating as it gets for me in adventure/mystery novel. At some points there were parts that simply dazzled me while at other parts when the characters were embarrassed, i got red in the face myself. But seriously if you like good books this is as good as its going to get. With great imagery including hyperbole's, metaphors and a lot of similes.
But there were a few downsides to this book. The text is a little too big for my taste and I thought it was going a little too fast...more

The book Framed is a great book that I would recommend to anyone who loves to read fun books. The book is about a boy named Griffin BIng and his friends. Griffin has entered eighth grade. This year, there is a new principal at the school. The principal is obsessed with football. The principal tells the students that a Super Bowl ring was donated to the school and will be put on display in front of the office.

i really like this book. i think that everyone could read it and like it. the story is about how griffin bing got framed. i dont think that the setting could have been different because its after another. the protagonists are ben and griffin. the antagonists are darren vader. i like all of the mystery in the book and these two quotes "why couldnt anyone understand that he was innocent!" pg 120 and "his fists were almost concerete walls." pg 139 a theme that was in the book is that friends are e...more

This book was very good. It is about a kid named griffin and many other friends. Griffin is blamed of stealing a very expensive rocky ring that he didn’t steal. But all the evidence points to him, so it is hard to prove that he is innocent. Later on Griffin has to go to a school called jfk aka jail for kids. While he try’s to prove that he is innocent he just digs himself into more trouble. Later on his friend find out that he didn't steal the ring a pack rat did. So they go to the school...more

Not only did I never get attached to this random group of friends, I could never understand their motives in this adventure. The premise of a stolen Super Bowl ring switched out with a retainer in middle school is amusing, and has the makings of a good plot. I love a good mystery. But not only was I never wondering "what happens next" I was constantly asking, "why in the world would they do that?". Griffin and his friends made poor choice after bad decision with seemingly little motivation to do...more
Griffin and his team are used to being guilty when they actually do something wrong, but are they supposed to plead guilty when they aren't? Their new principal turned the school into a football training camp, making them do exercises every morning before class. He also found Art Blackenships Super Bowl ring and put it on display for the school to see. Then it goes missing, and so does Griffin's retainer. When his retainer is found in the place of the valuable ring, all evidence points to him. He'...more

Any book that has the words narcoleptic and weasel in the same sentance in the first chapter is going to be good.
I'd give it 3 1/2 if I could. Funny, but somehow missing that clever, wity Korman dialog.
Griffin Bing is the man with the plan. The trouble is everybody in town knows that. So, when a Super Bowl ring disapears from the school every adult assumes it was Griffin and his friends. When they implement a number of plans with the intention of clearing his name, things just get worse. Hijinks...more

Genre: realistic fiction
Summary: griffin bing doesn't have what we would call a clean record. So when the Super Bowl ring gets stolen him and his gang get blamed. So he has to clear his name!
Recommendations: 10-13 year olds
Quotes: "where's the gerbil?" Griffins friend lost his ferret that keeps him awake.
"Success" griffin says success after he thinks he just proved his innocents but that's not what happened.
Text to text: this was basically just like the old one.

I chose this book because I saw one of my friends read it and I asked him if it was a good book, and he said yes. So I started reading it and liked it so I continued. The plot of the book is that this kid named Griffin gets accused of stealing a super bowl ring that was kept in his school. So he goes on a mission with his friends to prove his innocence. My favorite quote in this book was when Griffin’s friend says “He was always going to win Griffin he’s the principal.” I think the author’s writ...more
Griffin, the man with the plan, doesn't like the new principal at Cedarville Middle School. Dr. Egan runs the school like a boot camp. When a valuable super bowl ring goes missing, DR. Egan thinks Griffin and his friends are to blame because they have been in trouble before. Things go from bad toworse and fo the first time ever Griffin has no plan. A story about jumping to conclusions and the importance of loyal friends and sticking by your friends. ie true friendship.
This is a great book. I have read the rest of this series, and this is the best yet. the series is about a team of kids who do some crazy things that are usually illegal, but they are all really in the name of justice. in this book the "man with the plan" (aka griffin bing) is framed for something he didnt do. I really liked it because of the way that the rest of the team figures out a way to prove that he's innocent. Ths book is awesome!
Once again, Gordon Korman has written an entertaining and enjoyable book for young readers. Griffin Bing, The Man with the Plan, gets accused of stealing a Super Bowl ring that was on display at school. This book is the perfect example of adults making judgments about people before having all their facts. It is easy to relate to Griffin and his friends as they fight against the adult world to prove that Griffin is innocent.

Korman wrote his first book, "This Can't be Happening at Macdonald Hall", when he was 12 years old, for a coach who suddenly found himself teaching 7th grade English. He later took that episode and created a book out of it, as well, in "The Sixth Grade Nickname Game", wherein Mr. Huge was based on that 7th grade teacher.
