This is the review of my 7 year old daughter, Sydney.

This Bad Kitty book was not as good as the other Bad Kitty books. I thought this book was really repetitive and sometimes I got bored while reading it.

In this book, the characters are Bad Kitty, Dog, the Baby, the owners and Uncle Murray. The story was about the time when Uncle Murray was the babysitter for Bad Kitty and the Dog. Bad Kitty was bad in this book because she thought Uncle Murray was going to eat her so she spent most of the book
Oh, boy. How am I going to rate Bad Kitty vs. Uncle Murray? My niece *adores* the Bad Kitty books, and my nephew likes Bad Kitty vs. Uncle Murray in particular. Both kids laugh their heads off at Bad Kitty vs. Uncle Murray. In addition, my niece likes to read Bad Kitty books aloud, and I have noticed an improvement in her expression and fluency, so it's really hard for me to say what I'm going to say next about Bad Kitty.

I cannot stand these books! I love that the kids love them (hence the four

With Puppy and Uncle Murray..

Uncle Murray?

Who is Uncle Murray?

Uncle Murray is going to watch Kitty and Puppy while their people are gone for the week.

But where did their people go?

This book is great! Full of zany kitty action that will really get you inside a kitty's head.

It's also full of 'real kitty' facts. Like why cats are afraid of people, vacuum cleaners, and why some kitties don't like to be left alone.

This book is a chapter book and would be great for little ones who

This book was great. Uncle Murray was babysitting kitty and puppy for a week. But kitty doesn't like Uncle Murray and start to give him a hard time. Puppy, on the other hand, does like Uncle Murray and becomes Uncle Murray's favorite. Uncle Murray turned on the vacuum cleaner and kitty starts to go crazy because of the noise and ran out the door. She kept making so much noise that all of her cat friends heard and came to help. When Uncle Murray finally cornered Kitty, She starts to look bigger. ...more

Uncle Murray comes to take care of Bad Kitty and Puppy while their owners go away. Let the games begin. First of all, Bad Kitty is a touchy little cat. Bad Kitty needs to be handled with care and Uncle Murray is like a bull in a china shop. After some hilarious non-starters, Uncle Murray decides that goofy cat isn't worth it and he leaves. However, responsibility gets the better of him and lucky for us readers, Uncle Murray returns to take care of the animals. An uneasy alliance is formed. When ...more

Bad Kitty is quite an annoying cat, but, she is also just plain goofy. It is not her fault that she is scared of big, loud Uncle Murray, who is pet-sitting her and Puppy while their people are away for a week. Even though he doesn't understand why she hides and screams at him, he still does his best to feed her. But, the line is crossed when she gets outside and a horde of cats chase him while he tries to catch her. Then, he leaves her by herself, which also causes her to be scared. However, he ...more

Bad kitty's owner is going on a trip. Yes without kitty. He said he would bring back a special surprise. Uncle Murray's taking care of her for a week. Kitty's nickname from Uncle Murray is goofy cat. And she is a goofy cat. Kitty will try to battle Uncle Murray until he leaves. But kitty was already starving before Uncle Murray even left.
To Be Continued.

I think we have all established the idea that Uncle Murray is a dog lover. That is very obvious in this installment as well. But, there's no love lost for Kitty, either. Neither likes one another until after being separated a little bit.

Bad Kitty's owners are going away for a few days and Uncle Murray comes to take care of Kitty and Puppy. Bad Kitty is sure that Uncle Murray is bent on something evil, and thus freaks out anytime Uncle Murray gets close. This quickly results in turning the house into a disaster area and then an epic chase around the neighborhood with the "help" of all the neighbor cats. Fed up, Uncle Murray decides he just can't handle this and leaves. After being alone for what is surely forever, Bad Kitty real ...more

Bad Kitty may be bad, but I love him anyway. A cat's perspective on what goes on when his owners go away and the pet sitter comes to play - complete with snarky, cat-like commentary! I liked how Bruel also incorporated sections explaining feline behavior, which added a nice component to help kids understand their pets. Plus, the drawings of Uncle Murray looking more and more frazzled made me laugh out loud!

"Let's make a deal, cat. We're going to be stuck together for the next few days. I'm going to feed you and take good care of you no matter what. And in return ... how about you be just a little nicer to me."

Uncle Murray has been recruited to stay with Kitty and Puppy while the humans are gone for a week. Though more of a dog person, Uncle Murray is willing to give Kitty a chance. But Kitty only sees "big sharp teeth" and a "big fat belly" into which he's afraid he'll be swallowed. And so the bat

In my opinion I think that he book Bad Kitty versus Uncle Murray the Uproar at the Front Door by Nick Bruel is a helarious book. I would recommend this book to people whom want to read a funny little story. I like that the book is sometimes like a regular book and other times is a comic book. In the book, Kitty seems to think that everyone is out to get her. I always wanted to read the Bad Kitty book collection when they come out, but I finally got this copy in third grade. Ella got this book for Christmas and told me I should totally read it. It is the story of a very bad kitty who is babysat by Uncle Murray while his owners are away. Chaos ensues! The book has a lot of pictures and is almost written like a comic book - lots of dialogue and sound effects (Pow! Meow!). The story and writing aren't particularly clever or interesting, but what I did like was how the author interspersed the story with little interludes about cat behavior. For example - why loud noises ...more

I thought that this book had a lot of humor to it and was a fun read. I'm not a very big fan of cats, so I felt like I related to Uncle Murray in this book. Uncle Murray was supposed to take care of the cat and dog over the weekend while the owners were out of town, and the cat had a lot of attitude towards the uncle. The pictures in this book were a lot of fun and I liked how some of the pages were set up almost like a comic book; it made the book a little bit more interesting to me because eve ...more

I love how each book in the Bad Kitty series plays with the format a little more. This one is more like a graphic novel, were most of the panels are formed out of whole pages, if that makes sense. Some pages are subdivided, but most of them are full-page illustrations where the characters are the same general proportions in each one. There's narration, but most of the text is dialogue. I really like it. I also loved the appearances of the other cats from Happy Birthday Bad Kitty, and as usual, a ...more

Uncle Murray first appears in Bad Kitty when Kitty threatens to "eat Uncle Murray" if she's not fed any of her favorite foods. Since then he's been a recurring comic foil for Kitty.

In Bad Kitty vs. Uncle Murray the rivalry is explained and turned into another cat behavior lesson. This time the focus is on why cats are prone to spooking. Among the lessons are why cats howl, why they poof themselves up and why they won't eat when their human family leaves.

Interjected with the lessons are the point
Kitty is back and badder than ever! I had an absolute blast with Bad Kitty Vs Uncle Murray. This is a battle of wills (amongst other things), mostly on Kitty's part - and she's even recruited reinforcements to help her against the 'monster' (uncle Murray) toward the end. It was funny, and completely Bad Kitty. There were also some real cat facts throughout the book. Really enjoyable and fun!

6/10/11 ** Day 14 Book 18 ** This chapter book edition of the Bad Kitty series is a great transitional chapter book for kids who love humor. This is the tale of Bad Kitty and Puppy who've been left for a week with Uncle Murray. Of course, Uncle Murray loses the battle of wits. With a combination of text heavy pages, full-page comic images, and comic-book style frames, Bruel does a great job capturing the idiosyncratic nature of cats. This is my first Bad Kitty book and boy was it a cute one! Bad Kitty is a bit touchy (what cat isn't) and when Uncle Murray comes to take care of her and doesn't go well.
The artwork is cute and I loved that it takes the opportunity to share a bit of actual info about cats in general.
It's definitely a kid's book worth reading!

This is another funny graphic novel in the Bad Kitty series by Nick Bruel. While I think our hands-down favorite book in this series has been Bad Kitty Gets a Bath, this is also a very humorous book with hilarious illustrations. It's a very entertaining story, and although graphic novels are often difficult to read aloud, we all took parts in the story and read it aloud together. Our girls especially loved all of the onomatopoeia and occasionally argued over who got to read them. Overall, it's a ...more

This book was a pretty quick read. I enjoyed the learning element to this book. The author included pages that explained different scientific reasons for why cats behave the way they do. This book would be a good book to help students learn more about cats, as well as think up stories about what their own pets do while they aren't home.
