This book was okay, but it's a stretch to call it "accessible". Someone who is not already familiar with the jargon of programming would almost certainly get lost in the chatter here. It probably is very useful for someone skilled in another programming language to learn C++, but it would be very difficult for a novice programmer to learn to program beyond the very elementary basics using just this book.
