The first one was good. Really entertaining but nothing I would have dye if I had not read it. It took the paranormal romance we are use to and turn it into some weird comedy. I had some laughs but mostly I was thinking, WTF? I love my paranormal, so to read books that don't take it serious sometimes is a bit annoying for me. But it did have some great scenes, for example when the heroine realizes the hero is a shape shifter she doesn't...more

I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by this book from Dana Marie Bell, featuring the first three of her Halle Puma short stories. All of them coming in at less than 100 pages doesen't give the author much room to develop a comprehensive world, but she succeded here.
Halle is small-town America with a twist - a seemingly large portion of their population are Puma shifters. They are strong, fast, and deadly...and they know their mates when they see them. And they usually get their own way, as...more

Collection of the first three Halle Shifter stories.
The Wallflower- Emma has always had a crush on Max but thinks he doesn't find her attractive at all. Max wants Emma as his mate. This story was world building, character introduction and yet managed to be steamy and sweet.
Sweet Dreams- This is the logical next step in the series as these characters were introduced in the first story and hinted at. Becca badly wants Simon but keeps him at a distance. He decides to push the issue, the result is...more

Full disclosure: I met this author, Dana Marie Bell, at AAD 2011 and she told me about a bunch of her books. She recommended I start with this one.
For those who enjoy shifter romance books and short stories, this is a great one. I enjoyed the different personalities of the characters and the interplay between the three stories in the book. Her descriptions of people and places made me really able to "see" it without bogging down the story.
I'll definitely be picking up the next book in the serie...more
