Wow! Wow! What to say...

First of all, Melissa Morphew is a severely entertaining human being to be around, as well as to hear read her work. Don't miss it if you get the chance.

And now: why did I love these poems written in a style at which I normally throw my hands up, and then the book in the trash. And what I mean by that is--among other things--having to live with a dictionary next to me as I read it. When a book sends me (a Ph.D.) to the dictionary once or twice a page, I usually ditch it a

Shelves: poetry
Beautiful, although it seemed almost too much at times. Approaching it with a clean mental palate was wonderful, like eating dense chocolate cake after sipping a crisp white wine. Reading more than a few at a time was more like eating that cake while guzzling mead...both wonderful, but not a great combination.
