This book is so meta that anything else you thought was meta would seem banal in comparison. A writer (Peter Refton) and the people who he had written biographies about are on a quest to fight Grandfather Quest, because Quest ensnared them as characters in his story. Grandfather Quest isn’t the only metaphysical character in this book, it includes heavy-hitters like Time and Fate—and all intrigue and plot their way to directing the story unfolding before the reader’s eyes.
