Me sufrà el libro, tenÃa grandes expectativas ya que sé que hay gente que lo ama, aparentemente más las mujeres ¿será por la historia romántica? No lo sé, pero esa fue otra cosas que no me gustó. Ni siquiera logró cautivarme el que la historia sea del pasado de mi paÃs. Espero leerlo nuevamente en un futuro -lejano- y que mi opinión mejore, no me gusta enemistarme con los libros.

Me encanta y punto. Hay pocos libros que traten temáticas cómo la discriminación del paÃs en esos años, las situaciones polÃticas, introduciendo conceptos y mostrándote algo más que una historia sin sentido... mostrándote historia, tangible y real mezclada con una dosis de ficción que logra cautivar al lector :)
This is a classic Chilean novel written in the late 19th century. it was really interesting to learn of similarities and differences in Chilean an US customs during that time as well as a bit of Chilean history.

I read this book like 10 years ago and it was the typical book that you just had to read because it was given by your teacher, to be completely honest I don't remember a thing about it, I should read it again
I really enjoyed reading this book - it is a wonderful piece of literature. I can see why it is a Chilean classic. It was set in Santiago in the 1850s, and provided a lot of insight into the political culture at the time.
Novela clásica que todos los Chilenos deberiamos leer. Se comprende abiertamente la discriminación social que viene arrastrada desde ese entonces hasta nuestros dÃas. Muy bien escrita y bastante atrapante
Muy buena novela realista, sólida y bien narrada.
