It was an amazing book tracing the life of Rupert Murdoch...i loved the ease and exquisiteness with which Archer had written the book...it was a master at work ,definitely. And for someone like me who aspires to be a journalist(LIke me:)) this book was all the fodder i needed....Two thumbs up!!!

A repeat of Kane and Abel and As the Crow Flies from the perspective of the building of a media empire. This one though was far from compelling and often seemed half-hearted almost one definitely had the feeling this ground had been covered before - and much more interestingly too.

ICK ICK ICK! I really hated this book. I even skipped to the end just so I could find out what happened and even then I disliked the book. It was very confusing and convoluted and boring. ICK. A HUGE disappointment as I really liked the previous two books I had read by him!

Love the dual protagonists - two newspaper tycoons in Australia and England and their fight for control of the media world. The saga is 60+ years. But the ending is anticlimatic, very BLAH. Unlike his Kane and Abel, the ending does not match the rest of the story.

Interesting story of the cutthroat newspaper industry. I also liked Jeffrey Archer's As the Crow Flies and Kane and Abel. Even though his books are long, they always keep my interest.

As much as i love him, I think I just wasn't in the mood for this at the time. The premise follows Kane and Abel to a tee, which was much better.

Archer comes through once again with a surprise ending - this one literally on the last page of the book. Fun reading.

A little dated, but interesting. Business and journalism are an unhealthy mix.
