I keep hearing that angels are the new vampire in the world of paranormal fiction. I like angels; angels are the polar opposite of vampires, right? And there have been many entertaining books that center around angels recentyl. Hush, Hush By Beth Fitzpatrick and Torment and Fallen by Lauren Kate. I've read Fallen but not it's sequel (yet), and I've yet to read Hush, Hush but I have heard very good things about it. So I decided what the heck, let...more

Books involving Angels have always been a fascination to me.
There are a couple of Angel books that I love like the Unearthly series and Hush Hush.
And Knight Angels made it to one of my favorites.
It was told in multiple alternating POVs which was executed flawlessly.
This book deserves more attention.
There are a lot of overrated books nowadays that books like these are barely noticed.

This book will draw you in quickly. First I was a little weary about reading a book that had so many POV, but afterwards I don’t know how this book could have been told otherwise. I think it was a good thing, it gave me a chance to visit each of their minds.
The book focused on 5 mayor characters, Max, Greg, Jane, Emily and Wes. Max is so nice and handsome, the good angel. He always knew how to make a girl feel special. Greg, his brother, is the bad boy/ angel. Jane and Emily are sisters but tot...more

Why the hell do YA authors these days not seem to understand the nuances of "smirk"?!?!? I have come across this multiple times in the past few years and it is driving me mental. People seem to think that "smirk" means "charmingly cocky grin." THAT IS NOT WHAT IT MEANS. Google can tell you this, for God's sake. Just googling "smirk" tells you that it means: "a smile evoking insolence, scorn, or offensive smugness" (Wikipedia); "an affected, often offensively self-satisfied smile" (thefreediction...more

If by any chance you ever had your doubts against self published books, Knight Angels Book of Love will make you forget them. Knight Angels narrates the story of: Jane, Emily, Wes, Max, Greg, Erik and Sarah. This circle of friends and family is bound by supernatural forces and the secrets among them. The chapters are narrated in different POVs where each character’s “voice” shines for their singularity and contrast. Even though the Angel Theme has been recently explo...more

I have to admit that the first thing that I liked about this book is the cover, I’m a very visual person and a good cover is something that always catch me at instant and this cover wasn’t the exception. And then of course I started to enjoy the story. Even when sometimes I felt that already had read too many stories about an angel in love with a "normal girl".

Book Opening:
Diary of Jane Taylor:
"When I think of death, I don't see what everyone else does. There's a soft whisper when you find it, and a voice telling us that it'll be okay.
We never die alone, because they are always there watching over us, protecting us, and guiding us. They are silent, like a simple gust of wind; but it is in this wind that our world can change.

Incorporating several intriguing elements and seamlessly navigating multiple perspectives, Knight Angels is a fantastic addition to fantasy and supernatural books. With a well balanced mix of romance, action and back story, this book will carve its own niche in an ever advancing genre. All the characters are introduced early, some seen through the eyes of another before the reader is able to see inside their head. Ebner does a fantastic job showing how one person views another is not always righ...more
All in all, I really liked this book. Only a couple things set me off. I think the idea behind this story was fantastic. Angels are something I can not get enough of. Especially when there is an age-old battle involved, as there usually is with angels.
The characters were set up phenomenally but as the story continued I felt like each character was losing their personality. Each one doubted themselves way too much, but what set me off more was how the author, Abra Ebner, continued to explain wha...more

Even though I really liked the concept for this book, I had my reservations when I started reading The Knight Angels because I had just read a book with multiple characters narration that gave me a little trouble. But The Knight Angels' narration was really great and I can't see how this story could have been told differently.

Jane, Wes, Emily and Max are the main charaters in this enchanting story.Unlike most books this book doesnt have any chapters and we get to see the story from each of these charaters and others but mostly these four. The book starts off with Jane explaing what her life is like and then to her mom and ect. The story of how jane and max meet is a little chessy but it was cute and i liked it. Max is an Angel and in the book it explains that there are two kinds of angles black wings and Grey (white)...more
I found this book really disappointing. It felt like Jane was meant to be the main character but I found myself drifting towards Emily who was far more interesting. Jane came across as flat and rather boring, the romance between her and Max wasn't as exciting as Emily and Wes's relationship. I found myself comparing it to twilight throughout the book: A plain boring girl who attracts the attention of a mysterious guy and a shapeshifter? Been there, read that. There were some cringe worthy moment...more
Note to self: next time I see a book from a publisher I've never heard of, I need to google them. If the number of authors they've published can be counted on one hand, avoid them at all costs.
Funny how Crimson Oak can afford a decent graphic designer (I quite like the cover inside pages) but can't afford to hire a decent editor. Then again, I doubt any editor could have saved this trainwreck. Ebner's prose is painful to read and the multitude of POVs do nothing for the story. It seems as if sh...more

Knight Angels: Book of Love won me over from the first page. I became addicted to the plot and the well developed characters. The chapters were broken up into narrations for each character throughout the book. This method made it easier to keep up and it also gave me a chance to visit each of their minds. The storyline was refreshing and heart-warming. The love and passion was perfect, especially for a hopeless romantic as myself. Now, the book focused on five major characters, Max, Greg, Jane,...more
Hmm, this book was an okay read. My initial reaction to the setup of the book was: This is going to be confusing! When I start reading it though, getting to read from all the characters' perspectives, that thought changed. I actually started to be able to distinguish them all. I liked the angel depicted in this book. It is the first YA book I've read with angels in it. I found the fact that they age "slowly" intriguing. At least it wasn't the usual, "I'm immortal!" So that was nice distinction.

I really liked this book-it caught my attention enought that the moment I recieved it, I read it, and it was finished within one day. Unfourtanately, I recently went on vacation, so I didn't have a chance to really review it until now.
Jane was...interesting. The sort of girl who is a book nerd and loves to read and study for school and doesn't really care how she looks. Just Jane doesn't know how pretty-and ultimately special she is. Jane has always dreamed of seeing real magick-but what she do...more
A remarkable book where Abra has not only been able to bring to us a profound story, but let us bond with the characters on a one-on-one level more than I have felt with other authors. The closeness I felt at times with the characters was just indescribable! This makes a story so much better! I am eagerly awaiting my arrival of Knight Angels~Book of Revenge!

Review to follow, I'm about half way through this book. Different POV's were confusing me for a little bit but I'm on track now. I am a bit thrown by the spelling mistakes though... I have to go back and read the sentence again and again, just to make sure I'm not the one 'spell' reading wrong ie ... 'Max laughed as his head fell back, but when it tilted foreword, his gaze locked on me'. After reading it a few times, I had to go back to check out the author's 'foreword'. Nope, nothing there eith...more
Well I finished it...ish. I stopped reading at the 301st page because the story started to drag and the whole this started to feel false. It felt like the author, Abra Ebner, was trying waaaay to much to be like Stephenie Meyer--not that I have anything against Stepheneie. I love the Twilight Saga and this that it's an amazing literary peice, she's one of my favourite authors, but this is just the reason why I don't like Stephenie's book as much as I used to. Why her books have gone from "AMAZIN...more

I'd been eager to read this book since I first discovered it on the author's website a few months back. The gorgeous cover drew me in first and when I finally cracked the book open, I was anything but disappointed! What a fantastic, whirlwind of a story! This book was told chapter by chapter, alternating between the points of view of the four main characters: Jane, her younger sister Emily, their lifelong friend Wes, and the mysterious new guy Max. This was the perfect format for this story. Be...more
A Character driven book, the story telling shifts between 5 major characters:
Jane – Watched her father die at the age of 7. Actually she was saved by an Angel and has become sheol. She sees how people die.
Emily – Jane’s 16 year old goth sister who is clairvoyant and takes drugs to keep from hearing everyone’s thoughts.
Wes – Neighbor and best friends with Jane but wants to be so much more. Emily is in love with him.
Max – Guardian Angel to Emily and believes he is her soulmate.
Greg – Max’s twin br...more

the little exerts in the middle of the book had me confused like i knew what was going to happen and had me dissappointed cus i thought i knew the ending, but when i finished it i was so relieved it wasnt what i had thought really happened, i almost didnt finish it cus i thought it had a bad ending and was torn cus i had developed a relationship and feeling for the characters, but so glad i did finish it, cus it was better than i had expected, a lot better. i cannot wait for the second one to co...more
The book starts out intruiging, but then it starts to get boring and cheesy and predictable. The characters are distinct, but not particularly new, interesting, or likable, especially Jane, who is selish and mean and annoying. Emily is mildly more likable than Jane, but she doesn't have as big a part in the story as Jane, and her personailty is twisted by the supposed baddie of the book, Greg, who is totally uninteresting and cliche. I mean, the guy who kills his family because he thinks they do...more
I really enjoyed this book, the idea of guardian angels, evil brothers, love triangles and young love, but I got a little confused at times as to who's viewpoint I was reading and some times I even had to flip back and read their name again at the start of their mini chapter to remember who it was. I guess that's the trouble with writing multiple accounts of the story all iin first person, i would have liked their "voices" to read differently enough that you knew who you were reading from. I wrote this really long review but then my internet died. In short the Book of Love is about 4 main characters: Jane (cursed with death), Emily (hears thoughts), Wes (shapeshifter), Max (angel) and their dealings with magick. Jane is self centered and makes ungrounded judgements but her moans are equalled out by Emily whose character is greatly developed. Then there is Max who is the classic ya love interest and Wes, the poor sap who is a little deluded in himself. Heres hoping tha...more

Although it started of a bit confusing with al the different characters, in the end I found it a mesmerizing book and can't wait to read the sequel. I admit I was nervous when I saw that the story was going to be told in five different narratives. I've never been a fan of switching narratives between characters. It took me a few go arounds to adapt to the personalities of the voices and keep them straight in my head, but once the adjustment was made the story flowed so smoothly that I was complet...more

"It is more than probable that I am not understood; but I fear, indeed, that it is in no manner possible to convey to the mind of the merely general reader, an adequate idea of that nervous intensity of interest with which, in my case, the powers of meditation (not to speak technically) busied and buried themselves, in the contemplation of even the most ordinary objects of the universe." - Edagr A...more
