Looking for a fast-paced murder mystery? Look no further than DEATH BY BIKINI! I know if nothing else, the title alone should make you stop and consider the book.

Aphra Connolly and her father live on a tropical island. Her father left his resort in South Carolina to open the remote hotel four years ago. Most people would envy Aphra's life at the beach. But Aphra has no friends, no social life, and little to occupy her time except for the day-to-day operati

Not really sure how to rate this because it's really not a genre I read very often, so I can't tell if I found this book boring because it was bad, or just because it's not for me. I think it's the latter in this case. It was interesting in a way, and served its purpose as a quick, easy read, but it wasn't something I would read again, and I probably won't continue with this series.

Imagine if Nancy Drew tried to stop an international crime ring, ran afoul of frightening assassins, stuck her nose in everything and got in all kinds of sticky situations because of her meddling - oh wait, Nancy did all those things. Well, the Death by Bikini Mysteries are a kind of updated version of the Nancy Drew mysteries I loved as a kid. The meddler/heroine, Aphra Behn Connolly (lit reference alert!) is just as kick ass as Nancy and the stories are extremely fast-paced and exciting. The c ...more

Summary: Aphra Behn Connolly has the type of life most teenage girls envy. She lives on a remote tropical island and spends most of her time eavesdropping on the rich and famous. The problem is that her family's resort allows few opportunities for her to make friends - much less to meet cute boys. So when a smoldering Seth Mulo arrives with his parents, she's immediately drawn to him. Sure, he's a little bit guarded, and sure his parents are rather cold, and okay he won't say a word about his pa

Death by bikini may sound like a strange book but it is very suspenseful and quite a thriller.
You may think it would be so cool to live on a resort island and be in the sun all day. But not for Aphra, she works at her dad’s resort, which happens to be the only resort on the whole island. She was just wishing for a normal life and she thought she had gotten her life when a new boy and his family moved onto the island. But she had little time to enjoy it when Aphra found one of her favorite guest

It's a classic who-done-it that keeps the reader guessing. Aphra's father runs a private resort on a remote island. A family using assumed names unexpectedly arrives, and they are clearly not typical guests. Then, the girlfriend of a rock star is strangled on the beach, but who did it? Could the killer be a member of the family? Is it the mysterious Mr. Watts? How about the botanist visiting the island? Is there someone else? This book is a acion/mistery/romantic-ish fun book recommended to readers aged 10 and above for some parts in the story that weren't that good that made me lower my rating to a 4 star. Anyway what made my book good was it had so much action and mistery that you just don'y want to stop reading until you absolutely have to and that there is so much detail and descripion and setting description that makes the book more imaginable so yuo can picture the moment as you are reading. what a fun light read full of mystery and fun characters. It's a very quick read with a quirky main character called Alphra.

Adam/Seth was a cute addition to the usual mystery and the tropical setting was just wonderful to read when it's cold where I live right now!

In the next couple of days Aphra finds a girls body washed up on shore. This book is action packed especially when Aphra saw the body and had to find the culprit. How better to celebrate going on vacation than to write about a fabulous beach read? Linda Gerber's DEATH BY BIKINI will pull you in and leave you eager for Aphra and Seth's next adventure. Like J. F. Lewis, Gerber is cruel and knows it. "Leave you eager" was an understatement. You'll be desperate for DEATH BY LATTE (and it doesn't come out until September)! In fact, my mom's first reaction to the ending was to ask me for the release date of DEATH BY LATTE.

Death by Bikini is a fast, thrilling, loving and most than just a simple entertaining book.

In the first installment of the Death by Mystery series, we meet Aphra a sixteen-year-old girl living in a paradise island. She lives and works there at the resort her father owns. Despite hosting some celebrities, politicians and few other remarkable people, nothing ever exciting happens in Aphra’s life. That is until Adam-Seth arrives. I had heard only good things about this book, but I didn't really know what I was expecting. I mean, a mystery where a girl dies on the beach with her bikini straps tied across her neck? That could go one of two ways: either really good or really, horribly done.

Linda Gerber did a great job of making sure it was really good. There was an amazing mix of romance, mystery, and an exciting setting of the jungle.

The book is really fast paced and it gets exciting really quick. That was one of the reaso

Aphra has been living on a lovely secluded island for four years now. Her father owns a luxurious resort where retired big names and rich people come for a getaway. It sounds like a dream life but in reality, Aphra finds it quite lonely.

Her boring life changes when the secretive Smith family comes to stay at the resort. They have a very attractive son named Adam. Even though, Aphra can not get it out of her head that the family is hiding something.

Simple but fun - maybe 3.5 stars. Murder at a great beach resort should be a perfect premise for a cozy murder mystery, not to mention a hot guy should be a big plus. Unfortunately, upon finishing this book, I find myself utterly disappointed because the plot is just too thin and with plenty of holes. I listen to the audiobook version so I may misspell the name of some characters.
