"His breath shortened as Aki began to sing, a slow, heart-rending ballad about unrequited love and the tremors of his heart in the presence of the one who was completely unaware.”

In many ways this was similar to Soy Sauce Face. Two Japanese men deeply in love for years and unable to express their feelings toward each other, one physically slight while the other is hardened from manual labor, and one very loyal and protective while the other
Aki’s Love Song is a novella written by Sedonia Guillone. I confess, I’ve never read a short story written by her before, so I admit I was curious if I would become as emotionally involved between her characters with such a short storyline like I normally do with her longer novels. After I read it, I decided that Ms. Guillone is not only fantastic at writing long novels, but short stories as well.

It was practically love at first sight when Tamotsu first laid eyes on Aki. They were both freshmen

This is a wonderful short story with emotions running high and a rich back story that made me feel as if I'd read more than just sixteen pages.

Aki and Tamotsu have been best friends for twenty years, both of them afraid to lose the other as a friend, neither of them courageous enough to take the next step. Although the story is told entirely from Tamotsu's point of view, he understands Aki's need for a deeper love so well, that a lot of the time it feels almost as though Aki speaks through him.

There is a whole story behind this book, but the author chose to tell us only a little bit. Inside Tamotsu’s mind, who is half daydreaming and half remembering, we learn that he is in love with Aki, the rock singer he is the manager of, the same Aki who he met when they were 16 years old, 20 years before, and to whom he is in love since then. The same Aki he has never had the courage to approach in any different way if not as a friend, preferring to see him with other women and men, loving and l ...more

This was such a cute, sweet, little story. I loved the fact that it was set between best friends. Aki is a musician and Tamotsu is the manager of Aki's band. They've both been harboring feelings for each other for decades but when Aki finally gets the courage to write a song about that love is when their relationship takes off.

For such a short story, there's a good amount of background into their relationship. I liked that because it let me know about the characters a little bit. I wished it wer
This was short and sexy and honestly should have been a longer novel. It combines three of my favorite things to read about: hot Japanese men, J-Rock, and passionate sex scenes.

Tamotsu is the hero of Aki's Love Song. He's been in love with his best friend Aki, singer and guitarist for the popular J-Rock band Spider's Web (I've got a personal bet that Spider's Web is based on L-arc en Ciel and that Aki is Hyde but that's just me) for years. Despite success and an endless string of male and female

Aki is a famous musician and his manager is his best friend for over 20 years Tamotsu.
The story is told from Tamotsu POV so we see and know more about Aki Than we do about him.
This was a sweet (very)short.
