I do not understand why more people haven't read this series. It is hands down one of the best and most action packed fantasy stories I've ever read. I know it's an older series and that's probably part of the reason, as well as the fact that like Harry Potter, the first couple of books start out as almost middle grade, but as the books progress it definitely dips into YA.

I love every single character introduced in the story. Saint Dane is one of my favorite villains ever written. The concept an

I love how this series, like other really good YA literature, grows along with its protagonist and its readers, getting progressively darker and more intense with each installment. Because there's no doubt that this is a heavy adventure.

Feeling harried and desperate after his loss on Quillan, Bobby and Courtney are torn. On one hand, they desperately need to find their friend Mark, who may have changed the future and allied with Saint Dane. But on the other hand, Saint Dane is targeting the terr

I honestly don't know why I am still reading this series. I liked it at first and I do want to know what happens to Bobby Pendragon, but there is too much recapping in each book, and while the first person, journal style is fun at first, it is now irking.

Have you ever wanted to take a character and just shake them until they started to think clearly? THis is Bobby in this novel for me. This is when you feel things start to really heat up. Bobby's now on Ibara, with it's bees for quigs. Ibara is a tropical paradise, but there's so many secrets in the jungle paradise. There's clues hidden in plain site about the past of Ibara, but there's been so much time between the two points that it's easy to miss the clues. We're treated to the outcome of one ...more

These books are still fun, but I'm starting to struggle with them. I like it when I can't wait to get to the next book in a series. I am having to make myself get started with each book and then I feel like I'm wading through the beginning. I'm also starting to have serious doubts about the hero of the series and he's beginning to annoy me with his inability to remember important lessons. Maybe my irritation will be resolved and I'll change my mind as I read the last 2 books. Of course I have to ...more

Every single book in this series is amazing! Every chapter blows me away. I never know what is going to happen next, and I'm always surprised by the impossible plot twists.

This time Bobby is fighting to save the territory of Ibara and the small village of Rayne. Ibara seems like a peaceful paradise, but this territory holds a secret that even Bobby will have trouble with, and the Traveler from Ibara wants nothing to do with him. The evil Saint Dane is up to his clever tricks again, but Bobby is

"The Pilgrims of Rayne" was another wonderful entry into the Pendragon series by D.J. MacHale. it is a fantastic adventure novel in which the main character Bobby Pendragon once again has been sent to a brand new territory of Ibara, a perfect paradise island, to stop the evil saint Dane before he causes more mayhem. Meanwhile on Earth one Courtney Chetwynde is trying to stop Mark Dimond before he brings about the end of all Halla. This book was fantastic, its writing was really organized, but st ...more

As we saw last in the previous book, it has started to become messier. And i'm finally nearing the end of the series. But I have to say after books 2, 3, and 4 of the Pendragon series #8 The Pilgrims of Rayne would be added in my list of books in the series that I actually liked. Lets find out why,

Here is the summary of the book:

When Bobby Pendragon first arrives on the tropical world of Ibara, he finds paradise. As he works to uncover clues about the turning point this seemingly idyllic terri

Ok, just started. I'm only on the first few pages and all... but I thought I'd write the review as I went.

My passion for the series has died out a bit, so it may be hard to get back into it. But, oh well, they're good enough to pull me back in eventually... even if I haven't read any for a few weeks. Or months >.>

Anyway, I have high expectations... so many promises already... ah... wonderfulness... I'm so liking it. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

The Pendragon series is all about Bobby Pendragon and his quest to save Halla, a.k.a. everything in existence. Existence now consists of ten dimensions or "territories." Each Territory has its own turning point in history where things can either go very very wrong or very very right. It's Bobby's job as a Traveler to go between Territories and make sure all of the turning points go the right way. It's Saint Dane's job to make sure they don't. That has been the name of the game for awhile now, bu ...more

Wow.... That is a nice, simple way to sum up this head-spinner of a book. I started reading Pendragon when I was younger (in late middle school) and had diverged from it, ending with this book, until now (the 9th book wasn't out yet and you know the attention span of a middle schooler... I moved on and forgot to come back). So this is my second time reading through this book and am excited to say I loved it just as much as the first time. There were parts I couldn't remember that through me for ...more

If fighting the killer of your parents or getting swept away by a tornado the author D.J Machale who wrote the pendragon series beats them all.
The Pendragon series is the number one New York Times bestselling series and the series contains 10 of the most mind blowing and heart racing science fiction stories. The story starts that a normal boy named Bobby Pendragon gets a visit from his uncle that changed his life. He was told that he had the ability to travel between territories only got the t

This book was very good. The plot was very effective in bringing the series closer to its climax, and I also enjoyed the startling plot twists in the book (just like all the others. I'm beginning to sound repetitive). Besides that, however, there were also some other very strong aspects of the book, such as the character that Nevva Winter played as Saint Dane's link between him and the world of good people. It clearly projects the idea that Nevva believes in Saint Dane's idea, but wants to make ...more

I absolutely love this series and I don't understand why more people haven't read it. This is my favorite book series of all time and if you love a good fantasy-action novel, this is the series for you. Bobby Pendragon is assigned by fate to travel across time and space to different territories and stop an evil demon known as Saint Dane from destroying the universe. In this book, Bobby travels to the territory of Ibara to a city called Rayne, a beautiful tropical paradise. Nobody seems to have a ...more

Bobby Pendragon's next territory in Halla is called Ibara. Ibara is a tropical paradise. It's sunny, warm, colorful, and the perfect place to go on vacation.

Seeing as this is Saint Dane's next targeted territory, Bobby figures there's more to this utopia than meets the eye.

After conversing with the Ibara inhabitants, Bobby realizes that everyone is very happy with the way they live, but later finds out that if you do not go by what the government (aka th

This was the eighth Pendragon book I have read, and I started reading these gripping books quite some time ago. This is probably a common statement, but I would certainly say it was the best in the series. The Pilgrims of Rayne Pendragon 8 was well thought out, and plotted ingeniously. Just when everything in this book was hunky-dory, things took a dramatic turn, making the book a completely different kettle of fish. This read had two stories that intertwined, going on at the same time. This mad ...more
