James Patterson is now using the word "imprint" now. God help us all.
Well, considering the imprinting in this book is from one teenager to another and that they are actually BIRD mutants (the term imprint originated from the act of a baby bird bonding with it's mother), it isn't quite as icky as a wolf imprinting on and falling in instatruelove with a newborn baby. Hmmm... I think if Fang dies, I will too. So that's why I feared for my life in Fang.
I think I know what Max would say right about now: "If Fang is in any way harmed - if he gets a hangnail - you won't see another morning."
As for the whole Max/Dylan thing, it would depend on if it lasts. This would be the ideal situation:
1. Max falls for Dylan
2. Max sees Fang or hears from him or something like that.
3. Max realizes that she loves Fang more than Dylan
4. Fang gets jealous/ protective of Max
5. Dy...more

This series should have ended three books ago, before all that stupid global warming stuff. And I hear there will be yet ANOTHER book coming out after this.
I LOVE Maximum Ride, but seriously, even good things have to come to an end. And if this ends up like all the other series I read that went on too long, the series is only gonna get worse. From what I've read of Angel, that's the way it's going to be.

Ok so I have been waiting for this book since... well since 'Fang' came out!! I love this series, but I have to say that... 'FANG' WAS THE WORST BOOK EVER!!! Why? I'll tell you why:
Number 1: Fang fricking left!! WTF!! How could he? ~sob~ I nearly cried, and after I got over my sadness I threw the book at a wall (or at least I wanted to).

You know how some books make you squeal in delight once you buy them, even if you know bad things are going to happen in that book? You just have to be happy, because you love the series and the characters and you know it'll all be alright, even if you also have an inkling that some of the main characters are going to die?

Because it is a Maximum Ride a novel, it deserves at least a 4, but based on the decisions made in this book, it deserves a 1.

Little Angel save the day" gimme a break! Angel is an evil demon child!!!! What about Nudge! Or Iggy! or GAZZY!!! They are amazing!! and sooo deserve a book a hell of a lot more than the devil's spawn that is Angel. Max better not fall for Dylan. Dylan is a total DOUCHE BAG!!! and Fang BETTER come back or I will band together a massive vicious army of Fang loving fangirls and I will find J.P. and I will kill him...right after he fixes the books

Angel is a butt poop!!! Shes scary with that "I want to lead the flock" thing! And now shes ganna be the herion? NO! And Yeah, when does Iggy get his turn to be all awesome? I was very excited for this book to come out and now, not so much. Fang is amazing, how could Max not wait for him? He did what he thought was right. Whatever.

Please, no. Just...no. Hasn't this series been dragged through the mud enough? At least we'll get some closure to the ending of Fang. Hopefully this time the series'll be done for good-the phrase 'should have left well enough alone' comes to mind.

The end of Maximum Ride.
WHY?!
Honestly though, this may be one of my favorites in the series. The best one since 'Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports.'
Fast-paced, exciting, and not just 300 pages of Max whining about Fang and Angel. I also loved the addition of Fang's flock, and Dylan not being a d-bag. I must say I'm becoming a big fan of Dylan-Max. At least he won't let his feelings get the best of him.
I hated 'Fang,' but this book was awesome, and I'm slowly, though I'm sur...more

I really hope that this is the last book in the series. Seriously, James Patterson can't drag it out much longer. The newly-installed summary sounds good and dramatic and exciting, but how exciting is it really going to be? FANG's summary sounded good, too, but that book had NO PLOT.
Seriously, I think even Twilight had a little more plot than that.

A lot of people complain that this book was way too short and that it was basically just a filler for us while James Patterson writes the final book. I agree. But even though there wasn't a lot going on, I still enjoyed it. Though, compared with books 1-3, Angel can't even compete.

I read the first eight chapters online, (read here: http://jamespatterson.com/books_maxim... ) and though I can't say I'm surprised where he's going with the story, I'm a bit miffed at how messed up it got. I mean, Dylan? Seriously? There's no way Max will end up with him. He's either gonna die saving her life (or Fang's for a nice little twist), or he's going to fly off and never be seen again. I must admit that I was quite happy with this book, though the whole go green message annoyed me and the fact that Iggy keeps getting pushed aside bugs the crap out of me. If she falls for Dylan, I will rip up every Max book I own, except the parts with Fang and Max :) Best couple ever!!!! I think there are going to be books like "Iggy" and "Nudge" too, maybe.
