This is the second book in the series "The Mysteries of Middlefield". I was loved the book because I love to read about the Amish. The story is about Bekah, a nosy, young Amish girl who often gets into a lot of trouble by wanting to know everything. When a new neighbor moves in next door and her cousin Amanda suddenly moves in with the family she is really trying to figure it all out. Amanda did not want to be there, but as her mom has left and her day was trying to get her to come home, he thou...more

Even though I am not a tweet or , I fell in love with this book. The characters where wholesome and genuine. The book was a fast read for any age group. It was about a young Amish teenager who was not your every day Amish teenager. It all starts when her cousin comes to visit not for a few days but for the entire school year. The cousin is basically dropped off as her father returns to tend to his farm. Soon enough the main character Bekah finds out why the cousin is staying so long. This is the...more

Good for 12-13 year old girls. I liked how the characters' voices weighed their options when they had to make a choice: I think it's good for teens and preteens to see how other kids see choice and consequence, and that they actually do stop and think about things. Nice story.

This book honestly took me quite a few chapters to get into. Once all the suspense got to me, though, it was a really fast read. True, it was geared toward someone younger than me, but it was still good. I'm not sure how a tween would have gotten through it. It was worth it to read.

So far, it's so-so...I don't think it would keep my girls' attention, but haven't given up yet.
