Loved Gunmetal Black, loved Boogie Down. Daniel Serrano did it again. He captured the real NY in both of his books. This one seems taken from today's headlines. FYSHbone is a rapper who is gunned down. Cassandra Maldonado is the cop on the case. Cassandra has an autistic son and a failed marriage and no good father for her son. Daniel Serrano is a New York City lawyer and novelist. His novels include Boogie Down and Gunmetal Black, and are informed by a childhood spent in hardscrabble neighborhoods in New York and Chicago.
