This is Margaret Way's debut Harlequin Romance published in 1970. Our young heroine takes a job as secretary on an Outback station and quickly finds herself fighting her attraction to the station's owner. Though Adrienne is young, she's got plenty of spirit and Grant finds her quickly getting under his skin. You know he's hooked, when he asks a leading question to find out how old she is. The heroine was young, intelligent and spirited. I liked the way Margaret Way portrayed her. The hero too was more millennial than the usual. He understood women, was considerate and made time for them. The descriptions of the outback country were quite interesting too!
