Shelves: owned, rpg, dnd
An interesting enough overview of dwarves, gnomes, and a new race, goliaths, with lots of new character options and ideas and such. Goliaths were by far the most interesting species and culture in the book, for my money.

This sourcebook provides lots of flavour and options for dwarves and gnomes, plus it introduces a whole new race, the goliaths. If you're only interested in one of the three, then the value is thus reduced.

The chapters on dwarves and gnomes are particularly interesting, since they take what's been established in the PHB and expand on it, providing reasoning, justification, and explanations on why they are how they are. It's a great way to flesh out dwarven and gnomish characters (although person
