This is a brief book, with 111 pages of text plus a variety of appendices with resources presented on the subject of homeland security. The book features "point-counterpoint" debates on a series of issues central to homeland security.

For instance, Michael Chertoff (former head of the Department of Homeland Security) and Kip Hawley make the argument that new regulations make air travel safer; on the other hand, Jeffrey Goldberg contends that air travle is NOT safer. Or, George Fidas asserts that
