Do yourself a favor and don’t waste your time reading reviews. Just skip them and go buy this book. Just do it. But if you just can’t help yourself, if you simply must read a review, I’ll give you a little something more.
Simply Irresistible is the first book in the Lucky Harbor series and such a great story. I'm sitting here with this silly grin on my face because it's been a long time since I've read a book, any book, that had me smiling, giggling, sighing and fanning myself More...

How is it I can love an author this much? I generally don’t like books like this – romantic stories with a lot of humour. The characters almost always come off as juvenile and embarrassing. Jill Shalvis has a special talent – she knows how to give her humour depth, and her characters depth. I feel like I’ve been waiting for this new series forever – and it’s going to be quite a wait before book two comes out. But don’t worry about it fitting into a series; Jill Shalvis always makes sure her stor

Holy tool belt! What a wonderful read. My eyes were glazed and I had a stupid grin on my face the whole time reading this book. A very HOT Jax Cullen would do that to you. Then again so will Ford or Sawyer.
Maddie the Mouse kinda reminds me a bit of Sandra Bullock in 'While You Were Sleeping'. She was all klutzy, shy and awkward but in a cute way of course. Maddie, Tara and Chloe together were a lethal combination, they just cracked me up.

5 Star Contemporary Romance
This was one of the most difficult reviews I have had to write not because I didn't enjoy the book but because of it. I wanted my review to do justice to a book that I had enjoyed immensely and would recommend to anyone who loves a good contemporary romance that would leave your inner self smiling towards the end.

★★★★½ Wonderful book and just what I needed right now after reading about the murder of -- not one -- but two beloved characters in another series. Ms. Shalvis has long been a favorite author, and she knocks it out of the ball park with this one, a story of three sisters who inherit an inn. With plenty of humor and hilarity; frustration, fights, fears, and tears; secrets and sizzling sex.
But, it is not all that chick-lit-ish. It’s a romance! More...

When I read a great book, it's almost as if I become incoherent. I lose the ability to adequately express to you how good it was in an articulate manner because what I really want to do is jump up and down clapping my hands in glee. Not helpful, but the excitement should translate. I LOVED this book. More accurate, I LOVED the hero Jax. He shoots up to probably third in my top ten. Which I'm still developing btw, so if any of you out there have heroes you want me to add, send them my way!!!

This is the first book in a new Trilogy by Shalvis about three sisters who inherit a seaside resort from their free-spirited mother. This is my 3rd book by Jill Shalvis and so far the best for me. This book grabbed me from the first page and I fell in love with Lucky Harbor and it's characters. Maddie and her two half sisters have not spent much time together, but now they are meeting in Lucky Harbor, Washington to claim the inheritance left by their mother. The Resort is in need of repairs

Oh man, if you're looking for a book that will definitely be tugging your heartstrings, look no further. Simply Irresistable is that book! With an irresistable and sexy hero name Jax and a clumsy, soft-spoken, and adorable heroine... I totally fell in love with this book and its characters. The book simply captured me from the very first page and I was dying to see the ending result of Jax and Maddie's relationship. Let's just say that the ending was definitely what I was looking for! *wink* For

Simply irresistible! Fun, entertaining and a little heart-wrenching. I fell hard for Jax! Can't wait for the rest of the series.
"Where did that flashlight come from?" Chloe asked.
"My purse."
Chloe looked at Tara. "She carries a flashlight in her purse."
"For emergencies," Maddie said, trying to see into the yard.
"You have any chocolate?" Chloe asked hopefully. "For emergencies?"

Simply Irresistible is the first book in the Lucky Harbor series and such a wonderful story. I'm impressed with this author. She has created a contemporary romance with strong characters and a great setting. This is the first book I've read in a long time that had me smiling and laughing out loud at any given moment. I rarely rate books as a 5 unless it really knocks my boots off and this one did. I am excited that this is a series. I can only hope that the other books in this series build off t

If someone had asked me a year ago if i would be interested in reading this book i would have probably said no..simply because i didn't read contemporary romances at the time..i only read PNRs and Romantic suspense books because i thought i NEEDED the suspense and action with my romances...boy have i been proved wrong this year!! It all started with a book called the Sweet Gum Tree which, once again, came at the suggestion of my lovely friend Sharon!... i ended up absolutely loving it so i sough

I was so in the mood for this book. I loved the main characters and I enjoyed the story a lot. Steamy steamy at times, I can't wait until book 2 comes out.
Re-read: September 2011 on Audio. The audio version is very good.

I can see why so many of my friends loved this book! It was absolutely what the doctor ordered for vacation for a chilly day. I love Lucky Harbor and would move there in a second if I knew Jax was waiting there for me. I got a tad irritated with Maddie for making Jax wait. Jax was so sexy and sweet, I would have been on him like white on rice the minute he indicated he was in love with me...heck what am I saying, I would have just settled for plain old lust. The book was fun though and the girls

First book in this new series is a home run
Our family relationships are the past that creates us, dictates the present which all leads us into the future. My first by Jill Shalvis and oh I liked it so much! Got this book as one of my favourites so far. This book is so heartwarming. I enjoyed the humour pretty much, I truly enjoyed the romance. I liked the characters and the flow of the story too. It was interesting and intriguing read. And I couldn’t put this book down and stayed up late night only just to finish it. I know, it was crazy. Nuts, indeed.

I just recently read the blurb of this on a book that I have read and I said to myself, "why not?", since I am on the road to discovering new authors. And I am glad I did because I wasn't disappointed. I wasn't able to put down the book and went on reading till I finished it. I have a sister so this book got me. I love the relationship among the sisters even though they didn't exactly grow up together. I also love the fact that the author made sure to write different characters for eac

After I finished my last book I picked up 2 to take to work with me and read throughout the day. I started the other one, then when lunch came around I accidentally grabbed this one instead of the other one I had already started. I am not one to read two books at once but I figured I would give it a try and see which one I liked better.
I could not put this book down! Once I started I could not stop. I think I accidentally grabbed the wrong one on purpose. I loved the story line, More...

I just love the writing of Jill Shalvis! After reading her Animal series, I went out and purchased the first book in the Lucky Harbor series. Simply Irresistible was just that -- Irresistible!
I loved Jax and the whole town of Lucky Harbor. Plus who can go wrong for a rich and sexy man who is sweet at heart? Maddie and her sisters were also a fun group to read about. They each had their own personality and they were described as The Steel Magnolia, The Mouse, and The Wild One. Each More...

This story was laugh out loud funny, heartbreakingly touchy and wildly sexy all at the same time. Maddie has lost her job in LA (Maybe dumping hot coffee on the lap of her abusive ex-boyfriend who was also the company lawyer wasn't really a good idea.) and comes to Lucky Harbor to see the resort that was left to her and her sisters by the mother she barely knew. She doesn't know her sisters very well either. Her mother was a hippie and a Deadhead and all the girls have different fathers.

It was ok. I'm not jumping for joy over the romance in this one. For most my friends here, there's too much sex in this book - just to warn you. Other than that, the storyline was a little...lacking? It was sorta cute - a woman learning to cope and move on with her life after a relationship got horribly wrong and during that time she meets an incredible hunk of a man who is perfect in practically every way but she still manages to struggle with trusting him. The thing that bugs me the most

Charming. In a word, I found this story, its characters, and the writing style utterly charming and delicious. I was so pleasantly surprised by this one that it was like, "Hey there, sunshine. Let's get lost for awhile." The best contemporary romance books do that for me. They make me fall for not just the love story, but the heart and the quips amongst the supporting cast. The tug and pull of family trying to get along or at least not kill each other. The futile attempt of out running

3.5 stars. A very good read with great characters. Not a higher rating, though, because Maddie annoyed me a little too much with her insecurities and self-doubt. I know, I know - she's just out of an abusive relationship, got it. But I still felt it took her a really long time (too long?) to learn to trust herself and Jax. Jax is a saint for all of his patience in pursuing her even when she was pushing him away. The story is heartwarming and laugh out loud funny in the first half. It became a l

Simply Irresistible is the first in the Lucky Harbor series. Maddie who has recently lost her job and dumped her abusive boyfriend makes her way to Lucky Harbor where her flighty mother(she wasn't closed with her and was raised by her father) and her two-half sisters have inherited a resort. Maddie is looking for a change(she no longer wants to be the mouse) and wants a closer relationship with her sisters.
The resort isn't in that great a shape, but Maddie convinces her sisters to give it More...

AJ’s Review:
I’ve seen Simply Irresistible by Jill Shalvis on several review sites and I must admit that every time I saw the cover, something kept drawing me to the book. Curiosity killing the cat, I had to pick up a copy of Ms. Shalvis‘ book and boy am I glad that I did because she rocked my world with Simply Irresistible.

I was feeling a bit punky yesterday and today, so settled in with a book I'd been saving for just such a day, Jill Shalvis' Simply Irresistible. To start with, 99.9% of the time I find Jill's writing to be purty darn close to irresistible, and this was no exception. This is the beginning of a new trilogy called "Lucky Harbor" and introduces us to Phoebe Traeger's three estranged daughters, all brought together on the occasion of her death to renovate or sell the beaten-up Lucky Harbor
