This Science storybook was very well done! My two special needs teen age sons giggled and laughed all through this book! They loved learning about the various weird and 'gross' things that different animals do...from eating another birds puke, to a frog's babies coming out of her back, to sucking blood, etc. Very nice way to help teach Science to children without really getting 'in their face' about all the facts and stuff.

Gross Out by Ginjer L. Clarke, designed for reading with help. It provides short sentences, simple plots and simple dialogue.
Though designed for children, everyone can find this a fun read with interesting and unusual facts about some of our strange creatures. The end of the book also includes a recipe for Owl Barf Balls, a foul sounding but tasteful treat to share with your young reader.

Interesting

My 2nd grader enjoyed reading this. She likes short chunks of reading and loves animals. We read a lot and it is getting difficult for us to find new concepts to read about. This fit the bill!

Her love for strange creatures started early, as the first story she remembers writing in the third grade was “The Strange Animal” about a small, pink-spotted imaginary creature called a Woofa. She loves that her job entails visiting zoos and aquariums, reading lots of books, and even watching TV ...more
