Let me preface this review by saying that I love the Percy Jackson and the Olympian Series. I recommend it to kids all the time, and have read the first four books. I did not like this little addition. I have to admit I was mightily turned off by the little Disney logo next to the Hyperion imprint. Intellectual snob? Little ole me?
Maybe the Disney thing wouldn't have left such an impression had the pictures included with the text not resembled so many a Disney character. Did Chiron h More...

this book contains three stories that will lead you to the fifth book. the first book tells how percy was in fifth period and he heard a noise, when he looked it was clarisse. for an escuse he said he had to puke and it worked.he went to go help her and when it was over he explained that she was driving Ares chariot and her immortal brothers phobos and diemos stole it as a prank. when they ran into phobos and made him tell where the chariot was. when they got there they both had phobos and die

The Demigod Files is more of a companion novel to the series than actually part of the series itself...I think. The book contains various mini-bios on a few of the main characters and gods. As well as a map of the camp grounds and a few other features that are sure to please any fan of the series.
In my opinion, the biggest bonuses of the book are the three short stories that it contains. Now, I'm not sure if the stories are completely separate from the overall plot of the series and theref More...

There is a story in this book concerning the Big Three's children, Thalia, Nico, and Percy and their adventure in the Underworld that's my fave. Full of humor, danger, mythological power, and the annoying gods. This might be necessary to read following Battle of the Labrinyth.

Fans of the popular Percy Jackson & the Olympians series will be thrilled with this short and sweet collection of stories, characters interviews, and games. It was originally published to help hold reader's patience as they waited for the fifth and final installment in the series, The Last Olympian. I already read that one, but I am just getting to this fun little book now.

these are the kinds of books that we thank authors for. thank you Rick Riordan. these books show the compassion and thoughtfulness of authors. they want their readers to be up to date on their series/books and their characters. i cannot possibly see any disadvantages to these 'Files'. they don't give away information, but they give extra information on characters.
you should really only read these when you have read the Demigod trilogy. Riordan's purpose is not to give away informati More...

My Thoughts: While the mini interviews and other things were interesting, I mainly picked this up for the short stories.
PJ and the Stolen Chariot: Clarisse's brothers, Deimos and Phobos, have stolen their father's chariot that Clarisse has to return before the end of the day. I tend to like Deimos and Phobos in stories and they worked in this. We get to see more of the up/downs of Percy More...

First, what I disliked: I felt like this was a cheap cash-in. 3 short stories (two of which were ok, while the third was good), some "interviews" with characters, a crossword puzzle, a word search, and some illustrations of 5 or 6 characters. Meh. Not worth the 13 bucks that appears to be charged for the book. Thank goodness for libraries.
The reason I even bothered picking up this book: I had read that there is a short story here (PJ and the Sword of Hades) that helps s More...

Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Demigod Files is a collection of short stories and other goodies by Percy Jackson author Rick Riordan. It’s a quick read and it’s very entertaining. The stories fill in some of the gaps between books, and there are also pretty color illustration, a crossword puzzle, and interviews with characters.
If you like Percy Jackson, you should definitely read this book. The first story is about Percy helping Clarisse, and I think in Last Olympian Percy talked More...

This book was basically about a few events that happened between books 4 and 5 of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians Series. It had stories, pictures, maps, diagrams, etc. I loved it because since I have read all of the books, I could really see how it foreshadowed the Last Olympian. The last of the stories was the best, because it had Thalia and Nico fighting alongside of Percy.
Thalia is one of my favorite characters because of her bravery, not to mention her father's Zeus. I really More...

Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Demigod Files, by Rick Riordan
"The Demigod Files" is a cute little book, perfect for younger fans of Percy Jackson and the Olympians. There are three short stories, interviews with a few campers, color pictures of the main characters, and a crossword and word search.
I say this is perfect for younger readers mainly because it is short, and the content beside the short stories didn't really catch my attention. The three short More...

This book would best be read no sooner than after the fourth book, The Battle of the Labyrinth, to avoid plot spoilers. The events all seem to take place between books 4 and 5. I read it after finishing the series.
Three short stories are included. "Percy Jackson and the Sword of Hades" is my favorite of the three. There are also some interviews with some of the main characters. The Stoll brothers steal the show with their hilarious recount of a prank pulled on the Aphro More...

This book is super thrilling because it goes straight into my mind calling to me read it again. Then suddenly my mind freezes while I dive into the book, and if you start reading it you never stop. Also in the first Introduction there is something I should tell you but you should just read the book. All the Rick Riordan's books can teach you a lot about Percy the main character so you should read his books. This book contains a lot of myth characters and monsters that you might not know about.

I loved all of the mini stories. I finally introduced my mom to this, and she says it's good! which is rare with her and fantasy. at least in my perspective. I had absolutely no qualms with this book other than: the pictures were awefull!(except maybe Athena) They were absolutely cheesy and looked like they should have been in a five year old's tooty fruity 'happiest little elf' book. Everyone knows that this is not based on that. I could draw illustrations better than those if you want me t

found this book on a bookshop and manage to took it from its shelf since it's only left 2 stock there. I bought this book spontaneously 2 weeks ago and just done this yesterday, since I got kinda misunderstanding about what time I should read this book. At first when I bought this book, I was reading The Titan Curse (the 3rd), and when I just read this Demigod Files on its 20 first pages, I thought that this book should be read after I done all the PercyJackson series. And it turned that I was w

I’m completely obsessed over these books, and had to buy this, even though I finished the series a while ago. It looked too good to resist. Plus, I love the setup: a few short stories featuring Percy and crew, character bios and interviews, and some puzzles and games. It’s a cute idea and I loved it.
This is an especially quick read, as only a few of the pages are actually completely covered in text. It took me only a few days to breeze through it, but I’m sure most could finish in More...

Okay, the Percy Jackson & The Olympians series is GREAT. This cheap little book is like a zit on their greatness. Seriously, it's like Rick Riordan extracted the worst of his juvenile writing style (which I like!) from the previous four books and slapped together three crap stories. (Percy Jackson and the Stolen Chariot, Percy Jackson and the Bronze Dragon, Percy Jackson and the Sword of Hades.) All three are rushed and over dramatic and "save the world," which I am so tired of. This w

This book is really good! There are three parts to it. All of them are about Percy's adventures. I just going to summarize my favorite part. It is the third one called the sword of Hades. This is how it goes. Percy is at his high school for orienteering with his hellhound. Then suddenly his hellhound runs off and he chases it into a park where he meets up with Thalia, daughter of Zeus, and Nico, son of Hades. Then suddenly the ground opens up and they end up in the underworld with Persephone tell

My full review is here on my personal website. I'll post a few excerpts here, though:
3.5 out of 5.0 stars
The very worst thing about this book is that it seems like a last minute thing. As if someone said, “Hey, you know what would be great? This book is supposed to be a guide for half-bloods with some extra stories that the author, Rick Riordan originally posted on his blog.
Personally, I didn't like it. The interviews with some of the characters in the series were a bit out of character, Annabeth's trunk (what to bring to camp) didn't tell exactly what to bring, and the three stories were not his best. Since Rick Riordan originally wrote them for his blog, they were blog-worthy, not book-worthy.
If you like the Percy Jac

Another three and a half star book! I really liked this book, but I don't think it was super necessary to have been written... so I will just give it three stars. If you read the series and you don't read this, it is okay. This is just like an added bonus. :)
This book was published in between the fourth and fifth books of the Percy Jackson series. It has a few short stories of little Percy adventures, a map of Camp Half-Blood, and some other little trivia tidbits. There are also some More...

What a delightful companion piece to an imaginitive series. I particularly enjoyed the interviews with the main characters (who knew satyrs get choked up playing 'Muskrat Love' on the reed pipes?). Riordan manages to pack in quite a few laughs considering the brevity of the text. I'll conclude with one of my favorites in which the protagonist is contriving a means to escape class in order to avert a mythological crisis:

Armed with three short stories, camp interviews, God profiles--with descriptions of the Gods' modern human attire and a bit of their background mythology, short biodatas and weapon descriptions, the Demigod Files is a decent companion piece to the Percy Jackson series. However, aside from the short stories, we basically learn nothing new that we haven't already gotten from the first four Percy Jackson books. Everything here has already been mentioned in previous books.

enjoyable, informative, and just over all awesome. Riordan strikes again with his informal, hilarious prose. the short stories of the Sword of Hades, the Bronze dragon and the Stolen Chariot highlight the school year, summer and christmas before the Last Olympian. It gives some insight to minor supporting character in LO, making them more rounded.
As for extras, the map is useful but nothing like I imagined, the pictures of main characters are fun, but I wish more information was given.
