I've got a few issues: I'm a vampire now. One of my classmates was found dead, with telltale fang marks. I didn't do it! (really!) Nobody believes me, so . . . I'm going to have to find the real killer. I've already got three suspects. (three very cute suspects.) One more problem: I am seriously falling for one of them . . . but what if he's the killer?

Read on the blog!!

I love this book and its no secret why.
Cute guys!
Tamara Summers has portrayed this vampire book in a hilarious manner with some very unvampirish commentary by a 16 year old set to investigate 3 very cute guys. i wanted to read this book from a long times because the title is catchy and after reading the summary i knew i had to read this book. As soon as i started reading it i was hooked.
This book is not vampiry at all. In fact if you omit the blood drinking, the can't be see i

I really liked this one for it's humor and constant flings. Where should I start? First of all, we have Kira. She's been turned into a vampire after a car accident and now lives with her "family." After one nasty mistake of turning a jock into one of her kind, Olympia and Wilhelm "the parents" have not forgotten and make a point to lecture her on it every so often. So, of course, when there's a dead body on the front steps of their new school, who do we call? (Sorry, I thought Ghost Busters woul ...more

I read a lot of YA paranormal fiction, and while this book didn't start off that impressive, it ended up really engaging me. Good points: realistic vampires with realistic explanations. Engaging, interesting, realistic characters. Twists that made sense and were unexpected. Back story littered through the book, so there was no info dump, AND back story that ended up tying directly into the plot. I think this is why I had a bit of trouble getting into the book at first, though, because it was kin ...more

Words are not enough for me to explain how much I love this book!
For all those times that I am craving for something worth staying up late, you're just hanging out on my shelf?!
Why didn't I notice you before?! Well, as they're saying, Better late than never..Right?

This book has a lot of mysteries hiding beneath it's pages.
It got me wondering for a couple of times!
I love those feeling that I still have to guess!

The only disappointment I have is for Milo, (Hello I'm team Milo here!)

As a teen, I devoured vampire novels. Anne Rice, Christopher Pike, L J Smith, Bram Stoker, you name it, I'd probably read it. I got older and did my degree and found legitimate vampire reading in the Gothic and the Literature of Terror course. The recent vampire 'craze' supposedly spawned by the Twilight franchise didn't come as a surprise ot me the way it did to many in the media, however it has been hard to get away from teen vampire fiction of late and

Right after reading a bad vampire book, I started a new vampire book because I was in a very vampire mood at the time. It happens. Sure, the trend is dead for another decade or two, but there are gems that got buried in the deluge and the backlist. I’m happy to say that Never Bite a Boy on the First Date is one of those lost

To be fair, this book is very much for teenagers but I couldn't help but love it anyway. Kira acts and talk exactly how you would expect from a teenager but she was so funny with it. Unlike other vampire novels, she doesn't instantly become more wiser and grown up. She was turned aged 16 and she is stuck that way in both mind and body. She makes jokes and puns about being a vampire which was something I really liked. It was quite funny that she would make fun of herself or realise how bad the pu ...more
This was a cutesy murder mystery, full of clichés and vampires.

Kira and her vampire family move to a new town, and on the first day of school for her and her 'brother' Zach, they see something shocking. Turns out there was a murder the night before. The victim, a jock named Tex. He was thrown from the third story window, and even more shockingly, there are two vampire-like bites on his neck.
Their 'mother', Olympia blames Kira for the attack. (You'll see why.) She orders Kira to find out who the

Solid four stars for what it was. A fun read with the POV of a teenage girl who recently got turned into a vampire. I enjoyed the way she thought because it totally reminded me of how I used to think as a teenager, with all of the "likes" and "totallys" :)

Story about a vampire girl Kira who was dying and got found by a vampire family that turned her. She then got into some trouble with her vampy family by turning a teenage boy. In their new town a student turns up dead with bite marks on his nec

I expected this novel to be good. My fellow reviewers gave this novel high ratings. I didn't expect this novel to be so good. It started off a little slow and I wondered, 'Why did I order this novel from the library?' It didn't help that I thought the cover page was cheesy though the title seemed clever to me.
Fortunately, this novel impressed me. I thought that the main character was very relateable. I thought the author's interpretation of vampires was very interesting. I thought that the myst

Another Vampire book. :B
This is about a girl named Kira was accused of biting / killing someone. Yes she has bitten someone before but it was an accident and it was to save his life. His? His also known as Zach's. They had a romantic past together but its all over.

There are a couple of suspects but suddenly Kira had feelings for them. She hopes the guy she likes wasn't the killer.
But if she doesn't find the killer, she will be lock up for thousands of years. Literally.

Disclaimer: This is not twilight! So, do not hope you would get to read some Edward-Bella duo romancing and jumping tree to tree looking for a prey to feed upon. Yes, they are vegetarian vampires and crave for human blood, but this book is not one of the twilight stories repeating itself.

I have been out of touch with books for quite sometime now and was really looking forward to some light read which I could incorporate in-between my personnel schedule and this book was a perfect option.

You should expect that your parents, or even your pretend-to-be parents, wouldn't assume that you murdered someone, right? It's different with Kira's family. They all know how hard the whole vampire-being is for her and since she also allowed herself to turn her once love Zach without permission, they think that she killed that guy at her school. 3 Out of 5 Stars: I’ve taken the off because of the language conflicts. Other than that, really liked Never Bite a Boy on the First Date.

Kira was a sixteen-year-old, newly-turned vampire when she made her little ‘mistake’. She turned her boyfriend, and now is viewed as a slight risk by the rest of her vampire family. So when a dead boy turns up on the steps of the school, the cause of death obviously being from a vampire attack, the suspicion instantly falls on her. And she has to prove her inn

Kira, once known as Phoebe Tanaka, is a teenage vampire who has a big problem. (Which young bloodsucker doesn't?). Sure she bit a guy she temporarily lusted for but it didn't mean she took another snack out of someone from her new school! But her vampire family doesn't believe her. She must clear up her name within a week or else she'll have to face the consequences!

With three cute suspects she is eyeing on, how can Kira keep focus on her little "detective" work? Especially when she might be cru

Tamara Summers uses a nice mix of traditional and modern vampire mythology in this book- sun doesn’t burn the vampires but is uncomfortable for them, moonlight re-energises them, they can’t be seen in mirrors but their clothes can. This is something I’ve often wondered about with vampire stories. Most of the time vampires in books/films are completely invisible in a mirror including their clothes so to make a point of this was great for me to read.

As I was on-line combing my library for books, this title immediately caught my eye and I couldn't resist. I'm glad I got it. Never Bite A Boy on the First Date was too cute. I don't read a lot of young adult books. Going through puberty once was bad enough. I have no desire to feel all that angst again thank you very much.

I was a little worried when I read the prologue. It had a Twilight feel and I feared I would have to suffer though someone's attempt to capitalize on the success of Twilight.

“If I have to go to high school over and over again for the rest of eternity, I will seriously decapitate myself.” - Kira November

Being a vampire and living forever? Believe it or not, it really wasn’t Kira’s first choice. More like her only choice. I mean, if you found yourself lying in the road, dying in a huge puddle of your own blood, and someone offered you the option of being undead for eternity instead of just plain dead, you’d probably say yes too. Still, Kira wishes she’d never had to m

Never Bite a Boy on the First Date is a fun and light-hearted vampire mystery.

Kira is such a fun heroine to follow. Because she’s not perfect by any stretch of the imagination. She’s new to vampiredom so naturally, she’s made some mistakes. And not completely inconsequential ones either. Kira is also a sixteen-year-old girl whether she’s a vampire or not, and her preoccupation with hot guys, disdain for school and conflict with her ‘parents’ make her a character that is very easy to empathise wi

The sad unfortunate thing about such books is that the characters tend to be not so developed. I have read many of these books like Snowed In by Rachel Hawthorne, Caribbean Cruising by Rachel Hawthorne, Better Latte Than Never by Catherine Clark etc and they were all quite predictable and had a lack of depth. But if I overlooked it, I found the story cute.

It was fun reading about the vampire family, sure, vampires are certainly not the most original genre but it was still interesting to read ab
