This book had potential, but I do feel dissatisfied and disappointed. Managing the line between music journalism and academic writing is difficult. This book did not quite manage it. It is light on theory and 'tells the tale' from each Kate Bush's albums.

The book, although published in 2010, could have been written much earlier. The attention to the "Bushian Feminine Subject" has resonance with poststructuralist theory in the early 1990s. The problem is - as always - the connection between popul

At last KB starts to get the academic credit she deserves. Bet the right-wingers in her fan club (and there are a few!) didn't take too kindly to this great queer reading of the 'Bushian Female Subject'.
