Making new friends at a new school can be overwhelming. This book will help explain this and a friendship captain is a great idea for a classroom. Juanita is scared to pieces when she moves. There are so many new faces to learn, new songs to sing, and new games to play. Through the help of one classmate she feels right at home and important.

Every child at one point will experience adapting to a new environment, new classroom, new teacher or new classmate. This book is great at showing how overwhelming that can be and how to get quickly accustom to all the new things. The idea of friendship captain is awesome.

This series is great to take on vacation. They're small slim paperback picture books with sweet moral tales. We took them on many trips when Jude was two and he never tired of them.
