Another Rip-roaring Medieval from Lindsay Townsend

Alchemist Joanna must do the impossible--create an elixir for eternal life in order to free her father from the clutches of the evil bishop. The noble knight, Hugh seeks to free his brother, also a captive of the malicious clergyman. Together they join forces to defeat the evildoer and in the process, fall in love.

A KNIGHT'S ENCHANTMENT has everything I like in a romance--an unconventional heroine, a decent hero, a truly villainous villain and a...more

A charming medieval romance, heart warming and entertaining, well written and historically evocative. A Knight's Enchantment is set in the West Country at the time of the Knights Templar. It features an unusual heroine, an alchemist, and a gorgeous knight who is as sensitive as he is strong. When they meet, Hugh and Joanna are both dedicated to liberating members of their family from the clutches of a corrupt man. Their romance is cleverly woven into their ongoing adventure. I read it in one lon...more
There were an awful lot of points in this story where I felt I was missing something--dramatic changes of heart for characters without our seeing what led to it.

Gold is a key ingredient, and while panning for its rare gleam, Joanna struggles to rescue a boy who is drowning - until a knight comes to her aid. When Joanna lays eyes on the handsome man, a scorching desire is sparked deep within her. Hugh Manhill is captivated by Joanna's stunning beauty. When he...more

This was entertaining. A truly medieval tale, one doesn't often get in historicals and set in the West Country. Plays on the drama of the Templars, alchemy, religious intolerance, roles of women and the life of a tournament knight. Very interesting. The sexual interaction is surprisingly candid and saucy, depicting the unpretentious view of relations during that period.

I just couldn't finish this book, too boring to get into. maybe I've read too many books that were better
A nice little interlude. A bit steamy. A bit romantic. Not great, but fine. Now on to Olive.
Compared to the reviews on Amazon it is certainly disappointing....
