2 stars. Depressing subject with threats to a child. Weak heroine makes poor choices. Hero is “just not into her.”

Mia is a DNA expert. Women have been raped and stabbed. Mia is working on two cases which she thinks may be related. Someone tries to kill her and threatens harm to her nephew. Ric is a detective working one of the cases. A year earlier he interacted with Mia on a different case. They were attracted to each other and she hoped for more, but when the case was closed he no

My biggest issue here is that I feel NOTHING towards the main characters, both the hero and heroine. Which is disappointing, personally, to say the least.

When Mia Voss character first appeared in book #1, I was curious (and excited) to read her story. She's a smart DNA tracer. She does things with DNA that helps the main couples in the previous two books. Plus, she is the first Delphi Center employee that becomes the main heroine.

Unfortunately, in this book, I find her annoyingly weak a

Romantic Suspense is Not an Oxymoron.

Romantic suspense, who knew that was a genre? I learn something new every day and this is a correctly named genre. Well done suspense with steamy interludes. Mia Voss is a DNA expert who finds herself targeted due to her expertise. She finds protection and much, much more from Detective Ric Santos.

I have to admit that preceding the word suspense with romantic nearly convinced me not to read the book. I’m not a fan of the romance genre. Ms. Griffin successfu
Another great romantic suspense in the Tracers series by Laura Griffin. We met Mia and Ric in the last book Unspeakable (although any of these can be read as a standalone) Mia works as a DNA expert in a cutting edge lab. In the previous book, Ric was using his man powers of flirtation to get Mia to help him with an old case. It worked, and seemed things were going someplace for them in the romance department. With the start of this book, we see that did not happen, Ric never called her again in ...more
Laura Griffin is one of my favorite new-to-me author finds of 2010. Unforgivable is the lastest addition to her Tracer series.

Unforgivable is a great suspense driven story with a ton of heart pounding action. The story has a CSI-esque feel to it as the tension builds and keeps you turning the pages to the very end.

A trip to the grocery store late at night for some soul-soothing ice cream was supposed to be a piece of cake...or a dish of ice cream. Mia Voss didn’t plan on running into anyone she

As I was reading this book, I was having a discussion with my best friend about how there never seems to be enough words to articulate how you feel when you really love something, yet there are oh so many when you really hate something. This book falls in the former category: I don't even really know what to say except that I loved Unforgivable.

I first came across this series when I read Unstoppable, Tracers 2.5, in the Deadly Promises anthology. Until then, I had never even heard of La
Another great romantic suspense by Griffin. Every book she's written has been excellent. The suspense plot in Unforgivable was very well done. I'd have loved to read more about the forensics, especially since Mia is a DNA specialist, but what was there was very interesting. I actually liked both main characters, Mia and Ric, and enjoyed the character development. Even though they both hid information and emotions, the author did a great job of keeping them in character and making the emotional c ...more

Mia Voss was carjacked one night and was nearly killed and Detective Ric Santos was the one assigned to her case. Ric and Mia, being a DNA expert, had worked on cases in the past and even had a thing at one time that went beyond a professional relationship. However, Ric didn't want a relationship while Mia did and he backed away. However, when it became apparent that a madman connected to an old case of Mia's and was targeting her, Ric knew the only way to keep her safe was to keep Mia close and ...more
Unforgivable by Laura Griffin
Romantic Suspense –Nov. 30th, 2010
4 stars

In Unforgivable Laura Griffin has created a phenomenal addition to her Tracers series. I have anxiously awaited Mia’s story with the super sexy cop Ric.

Mia is brilliant at her job. She works at the prestigious Delphi Center where she uses her knowledge of science to track down killers and bring them to justice. But Mia is has been targeted. On her way to the local mart her jeep is carjacked and if it weren’t for a retired cop
This book captured my attention from the first pages. It starts out with what appears to be a random car jacking, Mia Voss a DNA Tracer, had been having a very bad day, so when she is carjacked and almost killed, she thinks its a random act. The detective assigned to the case is Ric Santos, seems that Mia and Ric had started to develop a relationship, but he pulled away for no apparent reason. It soon becomes apparent a killer is after Mia, and doesn't mind using her family to get to her. Ric is ...more
Although this is not the first book with these characters, it was easily read stand-alone. There was no ad nauseum catch-up from another book. Just a little snippit here and there. The story was easy to fall into. Mia finds herself in her pajamas (under some clothing), buying ice cream at a store to soothe her damaged ego. She'd just been demoted. She's trying to stay inconspicuous, buys her calories and fat, and gets in her jeep. She quickly discovers there is a man in her jeep and he seems int ...more

This is my second Laura Griffin book, and I liked it even better than SCORCHED!

Ric and Mia are a wonderful couple and I loved how their relationship got stronger and sexier as the danger surrounding the beautiful blonde lab tech got more and more terrifying. Mia isn't always a perfect heroine -- she does something midway through that I thought was really childish and irresponsible -- but Ric doesn't give up on her.

I love the fact that in this story the villains are dangerous sexual predators w
Love, love, love Laura Griffin!! She writes some of the best romantic suspense out there, in my opinion. This book turned out to be one of my favorites by her. I've been waiting for Mia and Ric's story practically since the Tracers series began and she didn't disappoint.

Basically, Ric was a complete jerk for the first half of this book, and Mia was quite rightly angry with him. Their past was a little bit murky as he'd warmed up to her and flirted with her months before and then abandoned her on

Book 3 in the Tracers series keeps the action on high octane. I really enjoyed this book, and I think it was my favorite of the series thus far. Each book seems to offer a different "type" of Tracer. Mia is a meek mannered woman who has a sole focus on her career but don't discount her as mild, she can have sass when she needs to and she isn't afraid to get down and dirty when the need arises. Ric fights his attraction for a long time, and it is fun to see him cave and let loose. They are not on ...more
Very good romantic suspense with a gripping mystery. Ric won't ever be among my favorite heroes. He was a bit too jerky for my tastes, but he was an interesting character, good at his job and a flawed, but trying to be better, father. I liked Mia more and thought that if some of her decisions were questionable they were realistic for her, given that she's a scientist not a cop or trained law enforcement type. I like this series and like that each book really does stand alone. One or two characte ...more

Ric Santos.....ohhh baby....who doesn't love a man who says things like "You don't think my life would be ruined?" (refering to Mia being shot at or possibly killed)

What a great read. The third in the Tracers series is seriously GOOD! I am not one to ususally read Romance Suspense but I can't get enough of Laura Griffin's writing and amazing stories. They are heart beating out of your chest, hot homicide detective, intelligent females awesome!!

Start with Untraceable and keep on reading throughou
I enjoyed the story (although now I come to think of it I am a bit confused about WHY the guy got into Mia's car in the first place) but it was marred by the realisation that in each of the books I have read, regardless of whether the female character is a civilian who hates guns or an FBI agent the male character ALWAYS tells her what to do and, quite frankly, bullies her.

Ric was no exception, in fact I think he was the worst. I haven't read the book immediately before this one so I don't know
Forensic expert Mia Voss is carjacked while leaving a convenience store and almost killed when she tries to escape. Soon there is a threat against her family and her life is once again in danger. Detective Ric Santos leads the investigation. Mia and Ric know each other from working on some of his cases. Mia believed he was interested in her, but he never called. Now Mia and Ric are working together on some cold cases that may lead them to the person who now wants her dead.

I got a deal on this one, so read it (out of order). Per Amazon:

Book 3 of the series- You do not need to read these books in order but I recommend going back to the beginning and catching up! Mia is working on evidence for a case Ric Santos brought her. The evidence reminds her of a case she worked as a tech in Ft. Worth. Someone is stalking her and almost succeeds in killing her and kidnapping her nephew. As the evidence piles up Mia is forced into some tough situations which put Ric right next to her almost 24/7. Their chemistry is undeniable but Ric has a ...more

Unforgivable was probably the more generic formula in this first trio of Tracers books. I realized this after I sat down to think about it, that it's got the typical formula of Romance novels:

Mia Voss is a beautiful, keep-to-herself type who has been holed up in her success as a Forensic DNA analyst for years. Enter Ric Santos, San Marcos PD detective--gorgeous, broody, and oh-so alpha (he even does the standard manhandling, jerking her around, and generally being an asshole thing that all alpha

My second book by this author. Didn't like this one quite as much as the first. This is Mia's, the Delphi DNA expert, story. Romance with Rick, the homicide detective from San Marcos PD, TX.
Nice to see Sophie show up again. Rick's partner is Jonah (who rescues Sophie @ end
from serial killer).
Mitochondrial DNA is passed solely through the mother and is very abundant in every person's body. That part towards the end was very interesting. All my highlights are from the end of the book. 3.5 stars.
If you are a fan of Laura Griffin's Tracer series then you will love this book. If not, don't worry, this book reads great as a stand alone. In fact I have not read her other two tracer books, Untraceable and Unspeakable and I thoroughly enjoyed the book. The two main characters have obviously met once before but didn't quite connect. In Unforgivable, they are the main characters.

After saying the above you would think I'm setting you up for a total romance book. Well, if that is what you are loo
What started out as another random carjacking, turned out to be something much more for Mia Voss. Something much more. Mia just thought it was a band ending to an already horrible day. And then none other than Detective Ric Santos, a man she had been seeing who just stopped calling her and coming around, shows up to work the case.

It moved at a fast pace, which is something I like in suspense novels. Although this book is classified as a romance, I felt it was more suspense than romance. The rom
I enjoyed Untraceable better than Unforgivable, but this book is pretty well written.

The characters are the low points for me. Mia Voss interested me when she first appeared in Untraceable, and that was part of the reason I chose to read this third book instead of the second book Unspeakable. Unfortunately, the connection between Mia and Ric is not as distinct as I would've liked.

The premise in this Tracer installment is that somebody has a dangerous interest in Mia, and Ric is the detective who

3rd book in this series "The Tracers" what I really like about this series is that you have already met the main characters in previous books, so you already know something about them.
Mia Voss, who is a DNA expert is kidnapped, with the help of a retire cop who gets shot and killed she escapes. Detective Ric Santos turns up at the scene. They had worked with each other six months previously when Ric asked for her help. They were attracted to each other but when case was solved Ric disappeared le

Unforgiveable by Laura Griffin is her third book in the Tracer's Series. The series uses a common link of Delphi Center, a private-pay lab that does forensic work. Mia is one of their DNA experts. She is able to use the smallest of materials and able to extract DNA from it. This makes her very, very important to some cases and very much in demand. Mia gets car jacked, shot at, intimidated, and threatened all in a matter of a few days. Obviously, someone needs her off a case, but which one and w
