Unfortunately this book is my must hate book of 2010. If I didn't have an ereader, this book would have hit the wall at great speed.

I thought the "hero" was an absolutely heartless, unromantic, horrible creature. He treated the heroine badly and I couldn't find any romance in this book at all. I did read it till the end and in my eyes the hero did not redeem himself in any way whatsoever. He was horrible right to the end.

I've loved all this author's books (love the Zorn series and her others, o...more

Inspired by a recent discussion on another thread, I went to seek out some robo-romance. After all, I've always had strange machine fetish. It should be right up my alley, right?

Well, the natural step is to check out the series that top all the robot/cyborg/android-related lists. I mean, first all the books in it, than the rest. On every single one. Therefore, it must be good, even if it's EC. Right? Right?

WRONG.

And so I complained about The Iron Duke.

And so I complained about Fifty Shades. Seve...more

Long ago, in the future, mankind creates humanoids (cyborgs) in their images, and then deems them too dangerous to live—right after they become sentient beings. Rings true so far. After years of fighting, humans have been told by their governments that all cyborgs have been destroyed. Only a little lie, where governments are concerned.

Flint is a cyborg, one of the many who escaped the slaughter. He, like other cyborgs is an Alpha male and doesn’t like sharing. He just happens to be in charge of...more

I was not sure how I was going to like a Cyborg for the Hero. I am glad I gave this book a chance it was very good. I like the scene where Flint & Mira are seeing the doctor. Some find it not so nice, but I thought Laurann did a fine job with Flint being sincere blocking her from others viewng her. Granted later he does not block her from others viewing her but in the beginng he did. Got to think this is a fiction book so Flints character can be an A$$ with no emotions because that is only w...more

Cover & Title - 4 out of 5

I do not think i have ever said "what the fuck?" so many times during reading a book. After reading other books by this author i was expecting the same sort of thing but this book was confusing & at times so bad/dull/awful.
Flint was completely reserved & uncaring, I do not think a hero can be a hero if they are like this. He in the end claimed to love her, i was seriously like

He kidnaps her, pretty much forces her to have sex with him, lies to her all the...more

3.5 * rating. When I first came across this book I was doubtful that this would be a good read. The only cyborgs I know are from Star Trek!!!. I found myself enjoying this book. Mira did tend to annoy me with the whole running away thing and the jumping of the balcony scene, if she had a little more substance to her this would of been a fantastic read!. I do not know why authors make their female leads so annoying. Flint was hot and I liked that he was possessive but after Mira escaped and was r...more

I liked certain aspects of this book. The sex scenes were really good, and I thought the emotions were intense, I almost cried. However the reason I almost cried was because I felt so freaking bad for Mira. Granted her reaction to a lot of her situations was really dimwitted and weird, I still liked that she was accepting of Flint from the time they met. She wanted him, and you felt that from the moment they laid eyes on each other. Although, their relationship was completely messed up...more

Mira's space shuttle is captured by cyborgs who she's been told were killed about 20 years ago. The government lied and the cyborgs have made a new life for themselves, stealing properties from other space
shuttles/ships. Mira's glad they didn't die out and tells their leader Flint so. He's surprised by her reaction and ends up taking her as his property. Since they were property for people on Earth, they don't think there's anything wrong with people from Earth being their property. Mira likes...more

2 ½ stars. The weakest story in the series. Too many conflicts were based on inaccurate assumptions and stupid actions.

STORY BRIEF:
Cyborgs have a shortage of women and sometimes take human females as mates. Flint is captain of a Cyborg ship which raids another ship. Flint sees Mira a human on the other ship. He is attracted to her and asks if she has any children on earth. She says no. He then kidnaps her for himself. His didn’t want to take her away from any children. He should have told Mira t...more

I was interested in a later book in this series and decided to start here and read in order. I read the others reviews and the people who didn't like it had some valid points but I think I'm coming at it from a different place. First of all some of the things that bothered people are the types of things that were pretty typical happenings in the bodice rippers of the old days. And since I avidly read them as a teenager in the 70s, my mind just told me "bodice ripper" and I went with it.

Also I am...more

Ehhhh no. I'd thought they'd be along the lines of the New Species series (which I admit, are my guilty pleasure), but the groundwork laid by this one has pretty much ensured I won't be reading any of these.

Within pages of meeting each other, the hero forces the heroine to strip naked, lay down on the bed ("expose your vagina to me" is NOT a sexy command in bed btw), ties her up, and then, despite the fact that she's been convinced he was going to rape her, and despite the fact that she was humi...more

Well, this was my first Cyborg book but definitely not my last. Flint is a Cyborg on a pirating mission to get supplies to take to his home planet. He wasn't looking for a woman, and he didn't seam capable of love until he met Mira.

Mira is taken by Flint and branded as his property. To say she isn't happy with accepting that title is and understatement, and she causes herself a lot of trouble and heartache in the process. She finds herself falling in love with Flint but would rather die than spe...more

Well, I was missing Laurann Dohner's writing *just finished her last book in the New Species series* so I decided to try this one out.

I had it on my 'tbr pile' for a while, since the idea of a romance between a human and a machine didn't make me really excited - not really my thing.

But then I read Shadow, felt sad it was over and said 'oh. why not?'

So. While this book def. wasn't for me, there was a reason I gave it three stars. It mainly has to do with the fact that, while I wanted to kill the...more

WTF? Romance? uh, he rapes her first chance he gets on his ship AND then brands her as his possession. And she supposedly is in love-at-first-sight with him and all so very sad about what happened to the cyborgs in the past. And then she gets all upset that he might have sex with other women or possibly share her. ON THE SAME DAY HE KIDNAPS HER!

And don't get me started on the erotic part of the romance. Not erotic at all. We get the obligatory "you'll expose yourself to me and anyone else I wan...more

I can understand why many readers would hate this story.
I think this story and the situations depicted cater to very specific "dark fantasies" that some females actually have.
The sci-fi genre delivers these "fantasies" to justify those situations.

(view spoiler)[I know some girls have these weird rape fantasies but do NOT actually want to get raped ('Never Have I Ever' is an example of a book that uses this idea). I think it has something to do with girls finding it HOT to have absolutely no cont...more

Ok, I really liked this book. I love this author. I should probably give it 5 stars. It evoked all the emotions from me that the author probably aimed for. However, this roller coaster ride was a bit rough for me. SATISFYING nonetheless, but quite a tummy twister. I won't recap because the synopsis I think does a good job of that. Explaining how Flint and Mira have a strong desire for each other but being from different worlds, their ideologies are so extremely different that it becomes a strugg...more

SO far Mira seems quite dumbfounded while Flint seems like a perfect gentleman, but I only just started reading it and I'm barely on Chapter 5. Ok, so now I finished the book. I didn't like Mira at first, she seemed to girlie, but then she seemed to grow some spine to defy Flint... twice!
Flint was all cold man and yet the sexual scenes were quite hot and descriptive. I didn't love the way it was written, I found some descriptions a teeny bit repetitive, but the narration was filled with very rea...more

3 stars.

So the first book in the cyborg seduction series is pretty damn hot...

There's not much story beyond the relationship between the H and & h, and there was one time I really didn't like the heroine, and another few times I wasn't too fond of the hero, ( he wasn't very hero like in a few places, IMO) but by far this is one of the better erotica titles I've read...definitley not the best, but an enjoyable read, none the less....though I have to say the synopsis is misleading, the bone of...more

Laurann Dohner is making me a believer. I was so not interested in reading about CYBORGS and for that matter I thought the same of aliens. But after reading her alien series and liking it I figured I would give these a try. I must say I am hooked.

Mira was not a whiney human and her issues were legit. Flint was controlling and because he was a cyborg I was able to overlook his inability to communicate with Mira when he was hurting her feelings. Although I must admit that is not only a problem fo...more

This book introduced me to a whole new genre in my library. I generally love science fiction and I also love romance (and erotic romance) combine them together and I was highly entertained.
I really had no idea what to expect from a story like this but I found myself not able to stop reading at 1:00 in the morning because I was so into it.
The premise behind this story - and the entire Cyborg Seduction series - shows a darker side to the future and humanity in general. That always bums me out when...more

I didn't read this series in order. In fact, this was the last book I read. Don't ask...I'm not sure why I read them all strangely out of order. But back to business...

This was probably my least -- or second to least -- favorite of the cyborg series. There wasn't much going on; it was all focused on the fledgling relationship between clueless caveman Flint (*grunt* me want woman *grunt* woman good) and whiney, desperate, demanding, irrational Mira. Really, I didn't like her at all, and I kinda t...more

i bought it and will read it next.. love this author she kicks butt..... and they butts in her books are always nice and firm.. aaahhh... she is the greatest writer ever..... 10/4/12.

sexy.... giant human/cyborg man finds Mira and he fallsin love but the way of the cyborg is not to her liking since there are 5 mail to each female...

Mira don't want to share so she tries to escape and does.. but Flint comes after her but before he gets to ther mutant prirates 'humans' born of parents with radiation...more

yeah. i think i'm a bit weird. love the premise of this series. cyborgs. big, gigantic men with big, gigantic penises. human women - some brash, some wimpy, all soon consumed with the need to have sex with aforementioned big, gigantic penises.

don't get me wrong, though. this book is SF erotica. but the back story/world building is cool, and there is absolutely an emotional element. and although i may be a bit weird - i'm also evidently a bit of a puritan. because all the relationships end up bei...more

I've just read Moon and hadn't sated my Dohner craving so I thought I would give the Cyborg a try. I should have known better since I just can't seem to wrap my mind around the space shit. I donät know why, I have no trouble accepting weres, vamps, faes or what else you can find but as soon as they go up into space I roll my Eyes and sigh...sorry.

I didn't like Flint at all, I thought he was cold and stupid and I thought Mira was way too accepting and too fast to declaire love.

I give it 4 stars. It was very interesting on how Mira was falling for Flint, but then again, he was not understand the definition of her words; true he was a cyborg; claims to have emotions, yeah the one and only that I understand the beginning "ANGER". But finally he was trying to connect with Mira, but "NO" that hefa had to try to escape because she was hurt what kind of Bull____ was that! Then she was crying boohoo, please now don't leave me, I would have taken her and have her torturned for...more

After reading the complete New Species & Mating Heat Series I expected similar. But this was a disappointment. For me, any hero needs compassion for the heroine. He totally lacked that. And only a few pages at the end started to redeem him. That was not enough. When he sold Mira to the other Cyborg, I half expected it to be a lie to get her to not run again, but he really did it. Couldn't believe it. He did not have enough affection for her and the entire book just held a complete lack of ro...more

Liked Kaitlyn O'Connor's "Discovery: The Forgotten" better, but it'll do. This is story has m`enage elements for others, but not the heroine. These cyborgs are more like the original Star-Treck Vulcans, or Borg. Their human, emotional side is shunned by their society and it is more of a collective. Both the cyborg and human characters grow and adapt by the end. I have purchased books 2 and 3 of this series so far.
If you like this title and don't mind m`enage, then Kaitlyn O'Conner's "Cyber-evol...more

I had a rather short area here telling a little about me but then I had more than a few people ask me to expand it so... here goes. LOL. I'm a full time home 'supervisor' which is a nice word for saying I'm a housewife. I'm married happily, I met my dream guy 20 years ago, and we have 4 children. I live in Southern California and I can't function without iced coffee. I believe in romance, I've alw...more
