Recommends it for: Fans of erotic romance with a bit of suspense
Pretty hot book and a decent story to boot. Beth Kery has written some of my favorite books in the past few years (Wicked Burn, Daring Time, Release), and while Explosive doesn't quite reach the caliber of my favorite, "Daring Time", it's still a very entertaining read.

To summarize: The heroine, brown-eyed blonde, classy, conservatively dressed thirty-something Dr. Sophie Gable practices internal medicine in Chicago. She knows the hero, 6'4" dark haired, green-eyed, thirty-something hunk, invest

Looks like I'm in the minority of not liking this book. There are a lot of 4-5 star reviews/ratings, but I feel like I'm being generous if I give this 2.5 stars. I just got very bored reading this book and couldn't get into the story at all.

Sophie Gable is a doctor who has developed a crush on the brother of one of her associates patients. The two have been dancing around each other for a while, but Thomas Nicasio is going through a tough time with the recent deaths of his
I have yet to read a Beth Kery book that I didn't really enjoy and this one is no different! In typical BK fashion this book has incredibly hot sex and sexual tension but also and an excellently suspenseful plot!! This book really keeps you turning pages to see what happens next, the character development was really excellent and for me at least it took me a little while to decide what to make of Thomas - In the end I loved both the H/h! To sum up, another hit for Beth Kery, fans jump on this on ...more

Recommends it for: fans of erotic romantic suspense and of course, all Beth Kery fans
There’s nothing better then having an erotic-romantic suspense jump right in and immediately hook you. Literally, first sentence, Thomas Nicasio has interrupted Dr. Sophie Gable’s annual summer getaway by appearing on her lake house dock. This is the sexy, ex-Navy explosives specialist who has been been giving her heated glances and, not always discreetly, checking out her body. Though they’ve only had a few flirty conversations in the lobby of her medical practice, it’s Thomas’ face Sophie sees ...more

Since reading and loving Wicked Burn a few years ago, I've become a big fan of Beth Kery and eagerly read everything Kery has published, and her newest book, Explosive, is right up there with Wicked Burn and Daring Time as one of her best.

Sophie is a psychologist with a secret crush on the brother of one of her partner's clients. Thomas Nicasio is sexy and charismatic, but lately his family has been in trouble. Adopted into the powerful and wealthy Carlisle family at a young age after being left

H. O. T. Uhhmmmm...he's Italian, six-four and a former SEAL. I really don't feel like further explanation is necessary.

Very good for steamy, lusty, intense, erotic sex. Pretty good suspense with amnesia, organized crime, and murder.

Sophie is a doctor (internal medicine). Tom is an investment advisor who has an office in the same building as Sophie. Tom previously was an explosives expert for the NAVY. Sophie and Tom have seen each other frequently, being in the same building. They have been attracted to each other but never acted on it.

Sophie takes a few weeks off to spend time at her parents’ lake c
Beth Kery not only brings suspense to Explosive, but she brings some serious heat!

Sophie Gable is a doctor of internal medicine and Tom Nicasio is an investment advisor who just so happens to have an office in the same building as Sophie. Tom used to be an explosives expert for the NAVY. Sophie and Tom have seen each other frequently, being in the same building. It just so happens they have been attracted to each other but have never acted on it.

Explosive by Beth Kery took me into the lives of two extraordinary individuals. Dr. Sophie Gable and Thomas Nicasio possessed a volatile physical chemistry that leapt of the pages. But it was Sophie’s nature as a doctor that gave additional insight to her caring nature. She wasn’t prepared for Thomas to show up on her doorstep and immediately found something was off. As a friend she helped him in the best way she knew how, by keeping him ignorant of the knowledge she possessed. As a friend that ...more
2 1/2 stars at best. When the story started I thought it was very interesting and intense. The hero Thomas is going through a PTSD attack and is found at an acquaintance, Sophie- the heroine's, vacation home dazed and confused. Since she is a doctor and aware of the horrible drama going on in Thomas's life she feels for him. They had met before and have been attracted to each other from afar, but have never had a real conversation, but she is who he searches out in his current mental state. It i ...more

Dr, Sophie Gable always noticed when Thomas Nicasio was around. Whether in the elevator going to his office or whether he was in her office waiting for his brother, he was just the type of man to catch and hold a woman's attention. Other than some brief casual flirting Thomas had never given Sophie any indication the attraction was mutual. Until Thomas shows up at her vacation house dazed and obviously injured. After a night of explosive passion, Thomas is gone the next morning, only to reappea ...more

This was an interesting book. On the one hand, holy crap there was a lot of sex. But on the other hand, there was this sort of mystery that was woven well. Would he ever remember their first night? Why was he blocking it out? My goodness, they have such a strong, almost animalistic, attraction to each other. They couldn't get enough of each other, which was good for someone who likes to read about people having sex, lol. But wow, there was a LOT of that. And the climax of the mystery was pretty ...more

The mystery, suspense, and SMOKIN-HOT sex made this book a very delicious read.

Thomas was a dominant, sexy, possessive amnesiac looking for answers and safe harbor at Sophie’s door. Already being acquainted with and attracted to Thomas, the compassionate Sophie takes him in and tries to help him put together the pieces of his broken memory. The intensity of his need for Sophie was so powerful it was almost overwhelming. I absolutely loved the two of them together.

Recommends it for: anyone who love a hot, demanding alpha male.
Once again Beth Kery does not disappoint. Even though the books starts out a little slow, the pace picks up after about page 80 or so and it is well worth the wait.

If you love a stong alpha male then Thomas is your man. At times I wanted to brush the hair out of his eyes and tell him that everything would be okay, he just needed to trust Sophie...

One thing that really struck me about Explosive was how aptly named this book was because everything about it was...Explosive.

Thomas Nicasio was an explosives expert in the Navy, there’s a big explosion in the storyline and Thomas and Sophie’s relationship exploded off the pages...again and again, lots of times...they both experienced multiple...errr explosions. Getting the picture? This book was explosively good.

Sure wish I’d taken the time to check out the cover of this book before I started reading my e-ARC. It’s perfect for the story. Thomas has suffered a family tragedy and turns to Sophie for comfort as he tries to break through an amnesiac haze to get on with his life. The man can’t keep his hands and mouth off of her. This is one hot, hot, hot, hot, hot, hot — throw in about another 50 or so hots — read. If you’re looking for a sexy, sensual, and downright sinful erotic romance, this book is what ...more

Doctor Sophie Gable had seen Thomas Nicasio watching her in the office where his brother worked, but he had always kept his distance. She's on summer vacation and he shows up unexpectedly on her dock at the lake, looking mussed and dazed. She knows he's been dealing with a lot in his personal life lately, but until now their lives had barely crossed. Now he's saying he came for her. They get their groove on and he splits before she wakes up. The next time she

My first Kery book. I had read reviews, which was good, because I then knew what to expect. I agree with everyone who says the beginning was confusing with the back and forth in the story timeline. I was surprised, however, by how good the mystery / suspense subplot; I really thought it was great! Had this been a regular romantic suspense - or even only a suspense novel - it would have been excellent, with more time therefore being spent on developing that part of the story. I don't k
Explosive is a page turning mystery with plenty of suspenseful moments. The story opens with Thomas being frustrated because chucks of his last few days are missing. Without really thinking he seeks out the one person that he really shouldn’t involve in his mess of a life.

Sophie is a doctor that Thomas has been attracted to for a long time. She’s kind and sweet. Despite the public drama that Thomas and his family are going through and him coming to her looking like hell warmed over, Sophie is n
I really like this book. It was different. It was something unexpected. it didn't happen the way I thought it would happen. Although many seem to have figured it out from the middle of the book I must be a slow type person and did not figure it out until it became apparent. it surprised me and I liked it.
OMG. Thomas was hotter than hot!!! WOW! I wish I had a gorgeous man with amnesia stumble up to me and use me like a battering ram....but I digress.

This story was about a man who had amnesia because of traumatic information he found out. He wound up with the only person he still remembered clearly, Dr. Sophie Gable, at her summer home, as they worked in the same building in the city. They had noticed an attraction to each other but never did she think she would see him while she was vacationing.

Dr. Sophie Gable wasn’t expecting her peaceful getaway to be shattered by the arrival of a half-dazed, dead-sexy guest. Thomas Nicasio has obviously been traumatized, and Sophie thinks she knows why. There’s something about his past that he can’t—or won’t—remember. Something that could get them killed. Most women would run from a man like Thomas. Not Sophie—even when she knows she’s playing with dynamite.
What was the most disturbing part of this book, you ask?

Was it at the very beginning when Thomas Nicasio suddenly appears on Sophie Gable's dock at her lakehouse, without even knowing where she lived? (if that's not stalkerish, I don't know what is)

Was it when Thomas pretty much raped Sophie in her office on her desk and then didn't even remember it?

Was it when Thomas pretty much forced Sophie to give him a BJ outside at her lakehouse on the side of some shed in the grass?

Was it when Sophie repe
I had trouble getting into this; there were a lot of confusing flashbacks and I kept feeling unsure of where I was in the story. That calmed down after a while and by the last quarter of the book I’d gotten intrigued by the complex plot. I think if this had been more conventional romantic suspense I would really have liked it, but the long, explicit sex descriptions didn’t interest me much.

Hot and sexy Thomas Nicasio runs to Dr Sophie Gable. He has amnesia and doesn't know what his tortured mind is hiding from him. He also believes that Sophie can help relieve his anguish.

His adoptive father is being investigated. He could be a mob boss.

What are Thomas' secrets and will their love affair survive his secrets when they are revealed?

Just simply couldn't stay connected to the story. Didn't feel any chemistry at all with the hero and heroine. Sorry. I found myself daydreaming at times. So....I'm done.
The suspense plot worked, but there was just too much sex. Yes, I know it's erotica, but I was bored.

This book appalled me at so many different times during to story and the only reason I kept reading it was because of my personal policy that once I get to page 50, I'm committed. Sometimes I think I should go back to the drawing board with that but that's for another day.

There was so much sex in this book. I mean A LOT! Page after page of it and I'm sorry but that doesn't mean it's a romance. They were doing it every which way from Tuesday and I thought on a few occasions that he'd actually def
Wow...quite a ride. I think with the exception of Wicked Burn, this is probably the one book of Ms. Kery's that I have read that has had THE MOST sex in it. And the scenes are not short. Some of them were several chapters. The steam factor on this book was pretty much through the roof. Really, really incredible. The plot itself was nice and solid...about the intriguing world of the Chicago organized crime underworld and how it can affect people. The character development was really very good...y ...more
