This is a tale of a mama and her beloved baby. Gently rocking the baby in a cradle before the fireplace, mama discovers snow is falling.

Swaddling baby in fur, she trundles outside. As a winter wonderland unfolds, mama shows the beauty to baby as she sings and baby sings along.

No doubt that mama loves baby and wants to embrace this magical time together.

While not long in pages, it is warm and glowing and beautiful in content.
The illustrations were gorgeously done, but the wording didn't hold their attention at all. But they kids did like looking at all the snow and the mother and her baby playing together out there.

Fall into the illustrations of this simple story. Mama introduces Baby to the wonders of the snow filled night. Sweet. Lyrical. Warm.

It's snowing so mama bundles baby up and takes him outside to enjoy the first snow in this whimsical take with lovely illustrations.

Didn't really like the illustrations. Story is kind of lame-- repetitive text about mom in what looks like medieval Russia taking her baby outside to see snow.
This was a great winter time book. I loved how it was simple, but still shared many of the great things about snow. I especially liked how it was a great book to share with very small children who are just experiencing snow for the first time. The illustrations are beautiful.

3 1/2 Stars I love to watch it snow and this is a nice book about a mother sharing her love of show with her infant child. The pictures are very nice and you feel the cold .

Folktale feel - a god storytime book about the snow and winter. Possibly in an arctic place. Might be fun to pair with an opposite book a folktale in the jungle.

Love the style of illustration.

And what fun. A mother who wants to take her little one out to enjoy the snowfall. Not the usual take on the story.

Momma takes baby to see the first snow of the season. Exquisite illustrations by the author make a so-so story come alive.

My favorite book about winter. Almost sounds like a poem. Soft and smooth and quiet just like snow.
