This was a very funny book, but perhaps not quite as funny as the rest of the series. Don't get me wrong! The Ugly Truth has plenty of laugh-out-loud moments. But, while the first four books had me roaring with laughter, erupting in guffaws, and frequently demanding to read aloud portions of the inspired insanity to anyone within earshot while gasping and trying to catch my breath, this latest offering only had me chuckling ruefully, or perhaps breaking out in a broad grin from time to time. This was a very funny book. I loved all the parts of the book but I especially loved the part where Greg overheard his parents in thinking that he was going to be the GROOMSMEN because they were getting him a tux. He thinks he gets to join in on the party that's held for the to-be married man. But turned out he was the assistant flower boy. I was laughing so hard because he had to hold the flowers for Manny. i recommend this book to all who loves humor books.

I think its the best of all the other ones.If you like funny books , you should read this.Greg Heffley and Rowley had a fight, and now they are not friends anymore. Now Greg and Rowley have to find new best friends.Greg thought that things would be changing with him and Rowley, but that didnt happen because Rowley had found a replacement friend.Actually his parents paid for the replacements. In the beginning Greg is alone with no friends to talk to.On page 12, he is sitting by himslf while a kid n More...

I think this book is for people who like humer books and are in grades 2 to 6. My favorite part of the book was when Greg climed through the sewer to Rowely's house just so he could dodge Fregly(The wierd kid). The auther of this book is Jeff Kinney. I think this book was really funny becuase they do really wierd stuff like trying to ditch school.

I loved this book more than any of the other Wimpy kids for two reasons. First being that it was awesome and funny. Second, this being the last book in my box set I was savoring every page because I knew I have come to the end of the fun journey. I found this book funnier than the others because now Jeff has started to have some real issue related to puberty and relations. He is having a tough time dealing and ignoring his one time best friend Rowley and things got worse when Rowley got a pimple More...

I chose this book because I have read the first one of "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" books and I really liked it. I think the authors writing style is very interesting, I like how the books are written as a diary and actually have pictures in them. It is a really great book to read and not tiring. I would recommend this book to people who like exciting books because this is the kind of a book that people can have a good laugh on and enjoy reading it. My favorite quote from this b More...

The book, The Ugly Truth, talks about a boy named Greg who is growing up and almost going through puberty. So now, he has more work to do because his parents are giving him more responsibility. On top of that, Greg has troubles getting back is bestfriend, Rowley.

The reason that I picked this book up is because one of my friends recommanded me this book. They thought that I would like this author's writing style, so I gave it a shot. When I began reading it was okay, so I kept on goi More...

I'm going to talk about Diary Of A Wimpy Kid-The Ugly Truth. This book is by Jeff Kinney. I have read every one of the Diary of the Wimpy Kid books. This book is about a boy named Greg who goes through middle school. Greg is not a nice friend and does not want to be a kid anymore. He wants to grow up, but not face the changes on the way to become an adult. Rowerly was Greg's best friend and now is nerdy more than ever. Greg really wants a friend so at the end he and Rowerly are friends again. Th More...

I read this weeks ago but somehow I missed writing a review for it! How? I have no idea. I feel so bad for Greg sometimes. I don't know if we are meant to, but I do. He really just doesn't get it.

I didn't get as many laugh out loud moments as I did in the other books. I did find myself chuckling and smiling though. It's hard not to when you listen to Greg. It was a relief not to have him as mean and bratty as he was in one of the previous books (I think book 3?).

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Ugly Truth was written by Jeff Kinney. It has 217 pages and is easy to read. At the beginning of the book, Rowley and Greg were fighting. Rowley is Greg's best friend. Greg is the main character of this book. The diary is about him.

The fight between Rowley and Greg broke up their friendship at the beginning of the book.

They get a maid, but their Mom cleans up before the maid. This way, the maid won't think they live in a filthy home. Then, More...

Greg has always been in a hurry to grow up. But is being a grown up all that.
Greg was going to a boys and girls party. Greg had to go. When he got there there were girls. He said “its not going to be that bad because there is girls here Rowley”. After the fourth Diary of a Wimpy Kid book, I was beginning to think that perhaps the series was winding down toward an eventual stopping point. It was a pretty good book, and funny, but my feeling was that the franchise might have been losing steam. Having read this fifth installment, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Ugly Truth, I've changed my mind completely. In my opinion, this might be Jeff Kinney's best book yet.

The Ugly Truth picks up just about where the last one left off, with Gr More...

What is the Ugly Truth? I guess you could say that Greg Heffley finally has to face up to a few things, but in typical Greg Heffley fashion he does everything in his power to avoid them. Several topics come up in this fifth book in the "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" series: sex ed., the limitations of maid service, puberty, or the lack there of, and co-ed lock-in parties. When Mom Heffley announces she's going back to school, the Heffley's get a maid, which at first delights Greg, when he thin More...

I've always liked the Diary of a wimpy kid series, but I honestly think this was one of the best ones.

I really liked how Greg the main character describes everything he goes through, and the things that happen in life. The thing I really love is how The things he does or says, are things kids our age do, at school, or some of the problems we face and all.

I also think this book is extremly funny, which isn't a new fact bacause the whole series is actully really fuuny! I lo More...

The fifth book continues doing what Kinney does best, which is reveal the beastly little id inside a middle school boy... Kinney really "gets" what is funny and horrible about this time of life, and expresses it in a way that will make kids laugh and parents cringe - which is just the tone that makes them so popular. None of them, in my opinion, have been as funny as the first, but this one had some wicked funny moments, and the advice doled out by his ancient grandparent (great grand More...

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Ugly Truth
Life Can Be Hard Sometimes
What would you do if the weekend before going back to school you broke up with your best friend... maybe your only friend at all. In The Ugly Truth, an auto-biography by Jeff Kinney, takes place in a bunch of settings, like Gregory's house, and his school. It's the beginning of the year and Greg got in another fight with his best friend Rowley, and they are More...

I thought that this Diary of a wimpy kid was pretty good. It was very interesting. It kept me hooked in the book. It was basically about Greg going through his life with out his best friend. This was sort of different from the other diary of a wimpy kid books because they all were about Greg and his best friend Rowdy. But, this one was about greg by himself. Until the end where greg and rowley and him made up and then they were best friends again. I thought that this wasn't the best diary of a More...

Another Wimpy Kid novel and possibly my favorite one yet! At one point, I laughed so hard I actually cried. Greg's started up school again, but this time it's without Rowley as a best friend because the two are fighting over something and Rowley hasn't apologized. Greg has to deal with boy-girl parties, the fact that he might be a "late bloomer", and his uncle's upcoming wedding.

The author is SO good at humor, and I think he did an even better than usual job in this book More...

One day I got my friend really mad at me for being too loud in his house and was accused of, “Going ninja on his walls.” So he threw me out of his house because he thought I’d wake up his dad who was two floors above us. Once we were out he began explaining to me why I got kicked out. As he explained he took a step closer to me. Once he was done he hit my hat off my head, and I instinctively punched him in the arm. He then got really mad and tried to throw a cooler at me but it slipped out of hi More...
