Quick Summary - Strong willed main female character

I'm enjoying so much this anime series so much!! ^_^ Good animation , very good ambience , terrific music , strong main female character, about the plot or the main goal cant tell yet, but enjoying it so far so I'm definitely going to check out the manga as well :D

"Red-haired Snow White" ("Akagami no Shirayukihime") will appeal to a very particular group of readers, only.

This series is 100% innocent and pure, peaceful and calm. Despite the fantasy fairy tale middle age-ish setting, the main genre of it is without argument Slice-of-Life. It is episodic without an overlaying story, and the “conflicts” are quite simple stuff, usually resolved within one chapter.

There is kind of a love story between Shirayuki and Zen, but the series is way too innocent to let

Summary:
Red Haired Snow White (Or Akagami No Shirayukihime) is a manga about a girl named Shirayuki (I absolutely love that name <3) who is chosen to be the First Prince's concubine because of her gorgeous (and rare) apple red hair. Shirayuki doesnt want to be played like a puppet so she cuts off her hair and runs into the forest to go cross the border to the next country (i forgot the name of it) and meets someone named Zen. Later on she figures out that Zen is really the 2nd Prince of the c

I have quite a number of friends who liked this manga and still do as a matter of fact so I decided to check it out. I'm into historical fiction, with or without magic although I prefer the former. And this turned out to be... well, not for me? I couldn't bring myself to continue reading it.

The beginning WAS good. I was interested in what Shirayuki would do and hoped she could continue outwitting Prince Raji. But a few chapters after finally escaping the prince's clutches thanks to Zen, it becam

A really delightful re-telling of the Brothers Grimm's Snow White fairy tale. Shirayuki is a wonderfully independent and strong young woman, unlike the portrayal of many women in manga. She is determined not to become the concubine of Prince Raji who is simply fascinated by her red hair. Instead, she cuts off most of her hair and escapes to the neighboring kingdom where she quite literally runs into the second Prince of the kingdom, Zen. I liked Zen a lot as a character. He is quite obviously at ...more

I absolutely LOVED the bonus story at the end of this. It was so adorable.

I'm really quite enjoying this so far! It's cute and fun and I'm really anxious to see where it goes!

I read this volume in anticipation for the summer release of its anime adaptation!

This is definitely a fresh take on the Snow White fairy tale--in fact, very little resembles the original! Shirayuki is still the fairest in the land and she is sought by a royal, but other than that, she's an entirely new character! She's smart, she's head-strong, she's knowledgeable, and she knows all about botany and natural antidotes/healing. I appreciate all the interesting new paths her character opens up to

Volume 1. Chapter 1-4.
This manga talks about the Red-headed Snow white. If you think it's the same as the Classic Snow White, you're wrong.
I was appealed to it for two reasons:
1st- I love unique things.
2nd- I love Red hair.

After I read it, I won't deny that I got lil bit disappointed. I wanted to see more twists in the beginning. Don't get me wrong, it is not bad at all. It's nice and simple but I wasn't prepared nor expecting it to be pure, honest and peaceful. I was expecting Adventurous kin

À voir ...more

**This review is for the entire series (finished or unfinished). I started only adding the first volume from manga titles because, well, do you realize just how many volumes of One Piece there are?!**

This is yet another one of my favorite manga of all time. I know that I have a lot of favorites...but when a manga is good, it's good, you know?

The cast is one of the most lovable I've ever encountered. Especially Obi. He's so cute, it's almost annoying. (Almost.) The historical-fantasy feel is some

The path that I walk on is, so to speak, my own story. I cannot draw with someone else’s brush.

Akagami no Shirayuki-hime, or “Red-haired Snow White Princess,” wouldn’t have shown up on my radar had I not run into its fanbase. The manga itself isn’t hugely popular, yet fans swear upon its fresh premise and story as outstanding among the heaps of clichéd shoujo. It’s a “hidden gem,” I was promised. I’m never without speculation, but I must give the idea some credit: the fatuous Prince Raji catches

The first impression I had about this book is… well, 川瀬 夏菜. In a way, this is the genre about a fantasy world, either magical or not, that's more about romantic mood than the romance of adventure. Social structure are settled down, and while there are jerks here and there, the conflicts are personal rather than a bait for social upheaval.

For the story. The red-haired snow white is the main character. Snow White had hair described as red as apple, a colour very rare in that world that she's said

First off, Akagami no Shirayukihime, Vol. 01 is a retelling or altered fairytale - mainly based on Snow-White and the Seven Dwarfs: A Tale from the Brothers Grimm. Fairytales & retellings of them are a serious weakness of mine. I don't like them, I LOVE them.

Although based on Snow White, Akagami no Shirayukihime, Vol. 01 does not follow the archetype of the original. It became a story of it's own, which is undeniably sweet and cute.

The artwork is clear, but is a little everywhere,

This is relationship fantasy/fantasy of manners. Basically a really nice shoujo romance fantasy. I love Akizuki's art style, she does lots of background and lots of intricate details that she manages to keep consistent. All her main characters look distinct, you can recognize them even in silhouette. And the character dialogues can be - at best - in a give and take like the old screwball comedies.

If she wants to do menacing, there is no need to have dark clouds or huge goons loom about, she doe

Marah dianggap sebagai barang, Shirayuki memutuskan pergi ke negeri tetangga sambil meninggalkan potongan rambutnya untuk dilihat si pangeran bodoh sampai puas. In all honesty I love a good romance when I can find it. And while 'Red Haired Snow White' mightn't be for everyone it does have a select, strong fanbase. It has its fair share of flaws and it is undeniably a shojo manga - but for me the sweet, slow-paced tone of the series is really what made it such a joy to read.

This series is probably one of the best written and undiscovered gems out there. It happens to be my current favorite one for the last two-three years now. This is a made for Disney Movie. I have been an adamant follower/stalker of this story and you can't help but love Zen, Shirayukihime, Kiki, Mitsuhide, Obi, Ryuu, and many, many more of the characters in here. This is a classical story where boy meets girl. Okay a there is a bit more to it than that, but that is a good place to start.

A chemist, and quite a brave female lead, to walk into the woods by herself, it should've been pretty interesting. But then its episodic nature has a rather repetitive pattern and thus there's little motive for me to actually read it wholeheartedly. The girl was in some problem, then the prince charming came to rescue her. The interesting female lead character ended up wasted and didn't really do much later, blended in with other shoujo stereotypical characters.

Each episode also felt too short f

Siendo un shojo, Akagami no Shirayukihime huele un poco a otras historias. Sirve para pasar el rato, entretiene y tiene momentos dulces. Aun así, tengo fe en que no me decepcionará: espero grandes cosas de los protagonistas.

Well, it has the ambience of snow white (because of the woods, I think) and Red Riding Hood (bacause of her hair).
MUST READ. ZEN'S SO-O COOL. I like him so much, it makes me want to coerce myself to fit into the pages of this book. SUGOI!

re-read this manga because the anime was already airing this season. Even though, I didn't interest to watch the anime. Still love the artwork, the story, and Zen. There an one-shot, but I didn't mind that because I like the story

Started promising but in the middle was getting a little dry. The female lead character is not well developed and doesn't have any characteristic personality. The prince is a likeable character and sweet. for me the friend of Shirayukihime is he most notorious character and one you kinda like the most. The others characters are dull and easily desappear from the readers mind. The romantic story was good at the beginning but as I kept reading little by little I started to lose the interest in the ...more
