Jim Hardie is investigating a renegade ex-army Major who runs his band like a military unit. They've already raided a Wells Fargo stage station and stolen the horse, badly wounding the station master.

A megalomaniac with delusions about taking the territory and setting up his own kingdom, he has no regard for life and must be stopped. He's teamed up with the local Cheyenne and Jim has to go undercover to get close to them.

Irving Werstein was born in Brooklyn, graduated from high school in Richmond Hill, Long Island, and attended New York University. His early career was colorful and varied.
