Who Is Quinn O'Halloran?Well, he's not "exactly "who he tells Abby Porter he is. Sure, he's the carpenter who'll help turn her run-down lodge into a charming inn. But what he "can't" tell her is that her worried brother hired him to secretly watch over her. After two weeks, he'll finally be able to return to his old life--where he belongs. I read Springer's debut book, 'Tested by Fire' and absolutely loved it. So I ran out and got six more of them from the library. Next I read 'Soldier's Newfound Family'... one of her latest books: It. Blew. Goats. Somewhere between her debut and today, she totally lost what made her stand head and shoulders above all the other inspirational writers. It's like a literary Amy Grant - who started out with "Jehovah" and "El Shaddai" and watered down to "Baby, Baby" and "House of Love". The difference ...more

I loved this story from beginning to end. At first, the main character, Abby is not sure who Quinn O'Halloran is. Her brother hired him to not only be a carpenter but also to keep a close eye on her because her brother was worried about her. Their relationship starts off slowly but the more he does to fix her lodge and the cabins she had bought, the more time he spends with her. There are a few unexpected surprises and some twists and turns in this story. But in the end they both get the future ...more

Enjoyed the story. It flowed well and was easy to read. Well written Christian romance.

This is another Love Inspired book that I picked up for a quarter at the library. It was a sweet, fast, very clean read....with a christian/romance type theme. This one was quite a bit more preachy then the other two Love Inspired books I read...and none of them have been extremely well written....but I give them 3 stars for being clean and having a nice message.:) The story-line was a cute idea. The heroine has broken off from her very rich family to start a life of her own. She purchases a run ...more

Abby's brother Alex Porter hires Quinn to protect her. While he poses as a carpenter, they fall in love.

Read the second in the series first, so went back to read this one. Pretty straight-forward. Girl might be in trouble, so over-protective brother hires a body-guard without telling her. Guy guarded, not just guarding. Falls for girl, anyway. Nice little story with a moral: God has a plan.

I love this book. The more times I read it, the more I love it. I love Abby and Quinn, they are great characters with excellent character development.

Kathryn Springer, winner of the 2007 Write Touch Reader’s Award (long contemporary), grew up in a small town in northern Wisconsin, where her parents published a weekly newspaper. As a child, she spent many hours sitting at her mother’s typewriter, plunking out stories, and credits her parents for instilling in her a love of books – which eventually turned into a desire to tell stories of her own. ...more
