Here is the perfect "snuggle up" picture book. In a picture-book take of "mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of them all?", a motherposes the question "Who's the cutest critter in the land?" to her toddler as they walk hand-in-hand into the woods. Each double-page spread celebrates one adorable North American "critters". Of course the walk where all these babies were imaginatively seen ends with, "not a single one is cuter than you!"

My two boys love baby animals, so this was the perfect book for them! The photographs used in this story are absolutely stunning. It made me feel I was right out in the woods with the animals. Good easy reader.

The photos of the baby animals are to die for and I love the nonfiction section in the back of the book where kids can learn more about the baby animals they saw in the book.

Adorable photos of baby animals ask the "Who is the Cutest Critter?" is it the baby fox? The sleeping baby bear? In the end the narrator decides that the cutest baby critter around is "You!" (or baby reader). Book also contains definitions and short explanations of each animal in the back.

Close up photographs with a simple question or sentence on the opposite page. Adorable and fun to see tiny critters up-close in a book. The end of the book also features "Critter Corner" with the animals name and a fact or two.

Reviewed from library copy.
