Read this on the recommendation of a youth pastor who spoke at a youth conference. It took me awhile to get through it as it is "text book" like, but it was easy to read with each section broken up so it could be read in short chunks. It covers everything a parent would want to know while navigating raising children. It's almost like an encyclopedia for adolescents. There's plenty of info that won't apply to everyone, but there's some great information on being responsive parents, communication, resolving conflict, establishing rules, friends, emotions, etc, and your role in helping your children through these awesome years. I'm sure I'll be checking it out of the library again. :)

It's not like there's a manual [to raising adolescents]. Or is there? The closest thing I've found is You and Your Adolescent: The Essential Guide for Ages 10-25.
