Excellent overview of working at a startup -- specifically in Silicon Valley -- from an engineer's point of view. All aspects that an engineer would want to know are covered, like what you need to know, how to negotiate salary/options, and when to bail out.

Of all the entrepreneurial books I have read, this is the book I have always been looking for.

This book is filled with concrete advice about being an engineer at a startup and any engineer planning to join or currently in a startup must read this book.

I plan to apply Piaw's advice directly to my life (as a software engineer NOT in Silicon Valley). Thank you Piaw.

Its ok, it has lists of information on taxes , stock options and interview questions but I did expect more personal stories and insights gained by the writers experiences

The book obtains some very useful first-hand experience of a person who had a chance to work at several startups. Tax & financial planning chapters are quite useful. Nevertheless the book feels too small and needs some more “meat”.
