If you want good books on what to eat/not to eat, start with the "eat this, not that!" books. They cover restaurants, grocery stores and home cooking.
This one is taking advantage of the same concept, but is not as well researched or executed. The layout, while similar to the Eat This, Not That! books, has a more Attention Deficit feel that leaves you feeling bombarded with random nonsense.

I bought this book for about 70% off at the Borders close out thinking it would be good to use with my health coaching clients who eat a lot of prepared / restaurant / fast food. Similar to the Eat This, Not That series it is full of pictures and quick tips for what to eat. There are many things that I wouldn't eat either the pick its or kicks it personally but for the average person it is an easy, helpful read.
A good source of information. It does seem to contradict itself at times although it does promote the idea of healthy lifestyle versus dieting to be skinny.
I would recommend Eat This Not That and Cook This Not That as alternatives that I personally got more helpful information from.
